Check the last two , options are Everybody, friends or block, there's a chance you set the social networking one to block in the initial setup.

Hope that sorts it out.

Thanks Boozy, I'll check when I get home tonight.

Ohh might have stab at White Night.

What was the consensus off people who actually played Evil Within in the end?

Its ok, very old school play mechanics and controls/camera can be finicky. I played up to a certain point, some kind of underground tomb place got bored and put it down to play other games (which I don't usually do). Will go back and complete some day.

Found White Night to be painfully slow and sparse, even by survival horror standards. Looks the business, though.

I found it very stylish but extremely frustrating.

Wow, I saw it for sale for £12 and thought it was a bargain then! Do you know how much it is for us mere mortals?

£24 base price.

Finally taken the plunge into next gen goodness, thanks to this offer in Argos - 1Tb console with Halo 5 (and £10 gift voucher) for £280.

Please feel free to add me, gamertag is Daz Dog.

Also plan to get Gears and Tomb Raider. Exciting times!

Ah yes, you're completely right, he did say that. Hope he's able to fix it and get on with celebrating Halo day. The timing is terrible.

I got a black screen of death followed by it hanging on the green bootup screen. Happily I left it 10 minutes and it started up fine. I think it must have been testing the disk after the hard reset. After the last time I needed to factory reset I put everything on my external drive :)

In the end though I skipped Halo day and made it a Guild Wars 2 day. Yesterday was going to be Halo day but I`m full of cold and I couldn`t be bothered :(

If you are a mere mortal you may not want to buy it as it is online only.

:)

I knew that, but I've just brought an Xbox One with Forza 6 and Halo 5 so I'm not going Gold till later on. But if Titanfall was under £10 then I would have taken the plunge.

Just got the new console home, unboxed it, plug it in, turn it on, get a green screen for about 5 seconds then a black "System Error" E305.

Not a good start. Online with customer support. Don't suppose anyone here has any ideas?

Enjoy! :) Good time to jump on board. New dash update, backwards compatibility incoming, great line-up of exclusives this winter. Oh and cheap Gold membership deals (cdkeys £22 for the year - includes 4 games per month)

Are you sure? you can get 12 months gold for just £20 at cdkeys:

http://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/12-month-xbox-live-gold-membership-xbox-360

5% off voucher:

https://www.facebook.com/cdkeyscom/app_393344207416996

That'll now entitle you to 48 games a year (24 Xbox One and 24 Xbox 360 via Backwards compatibility)

Yeah its insanely cheap.... Just wondering when CDKeys will stop doing these deals... tempted to buy another 12months and back to back my sub. 2 years for the price of 1....

Its absolutely fucked chaps :(

It was a wired connection but was then going to go wireless. The router is right next to the xbox one so it's not a weak signal. I followed the instructions for the offline system update, but no joy whatsoever. Support told me to take it back to the store. Will do so tomorrow, such a massive pain. Unfortunately Argos don't have any in stock when checking online. Do you think they will just give me a refund?

If its faulty they have to give you a refund.

Guess you've tried a hard reset? Just hold the power button down on the console for around 5-10 seconds. Although if this was the error message you got from cold when you bought the machine then it maybe DOA.

Also to add:-

Depends on how motivated you are to get your new toy working tonight! :D I very much doubt its a hardware problem - it'll be something to do with software somewhere at a guess. The fact that its powering up and displaying messages etc must mean the hardware is working to a degree. Anyhow hope you get sorted out. Nothing worse that getting a new toy to play with that is broken when you plug it in.. :(

Ok brill, back it goes tomorrow then. Guess I'll wait for them to get more in stock or another similar deal to pop up. I've got Friday booked off for HALO 5 action too, sob!

Support told me to do the OSUDT1 update. I tried a few times but no success. After a few tries, I was getting nothing coming up at all, no green or black screens, just nothing. I'd rather take it back and get a new one, even if I could fix the software issue, just for my piece of mind. I would always be fearful it might break at any point in the future. I just hope Argos aren't a pain about refunding tomorrow, would happily have taken a replacement. It's all boxed up now and waiting by the front door like a naughty child.

Thanks for your help fellas, hopefully I shall see you online soon.

If another store nearby has it in stock you could go there for the replacement I think.

Or if it's too far to travel, see if they'll get it sent to your store of choice same day. I recently ordered something in store at 9 in the morning, and it came in for pickup at 4 that afternoon.
