I tried forwarding every port to it. May just try with the specific ports live needs when I can be bothered to try again

Using the same router with a home plug and all is fine so guess I just have to live with the disconnects every now and again on gears

Anybody struggling tonight? Looks like live is screwed - even xbox.com returns an error. Strangely the "test multiplayer" in network settings says everything is fine which it definitely isn't.

edit: Yep it's updated now to say core services are "experiencing issues"

Hopefully tonight I'll get to play Elder Scrolls Online for the first time this week. I think it went - Monday: Major problems with the game co's server. Tuesday: 19GB update 3% of the way through when I switched on. Progressing through at about 2% an hour. Wednesday: The game's EU server down for maintenance, discovered it wanted me to create a new character to use the US server. Thursday: Xbox Live fucked for everyone. Friday: I'll find out in a bit!

After 3-4 years I'm back on Live for a full year. I remembered a very good reason not to sell the Bone, and that's Rock Band 4 (can't transfer all the 360 DLC to PS4) which'll no doubt keep me logging on (finally) constantly on the Bone.

Feels good, in that odd way. Rare & Gears on the pile of things to pick up.

It's not the proper way to do a compilation, is all. It's clearly half-baked with little thought (or told to be rushed).

You can't even get every achievement in the game with the Bone, since Viva Pinata 2 requires the 360 Camera for one of it's achievements.

Yet 10,000 achievement points is still advertised.

On second thought, reading Rare Replay reviews it seems terrible for not adding new achievements to the 360/Live Arcade titles and taking you out of Rare Replay in general. Boo.

Seriously? This a reason not to buy this???? LMAO.

OK maybe its not for you then.

This is insane value for money and whole bunch of fun!! Achievements f**k them..... :D

That's one criticism I never ever thought I'd see hurled at RARE Replay... Well done NEG. now go and play it then come back and apologise.

It's by far and away the most lovingly crafted compilation I've had the pleasure of playing.... and do people still really care about achievements/gamerscore?

It's a bit like comparing Sonic Mega Collection with Ultimate Mega Drive collection. The latter may have far more games and even a few extras but it's still a rubbish compared to the former for many uncared for by the dev reasons.

Yet it still got positive reviews and is fine for most, that's fine, but you can certainly do it better.

The latest Mega Man collection versus Anniversary Collection is the latest example. We go backwards on compilations and people don't care.

If you want to critcise Rare Replay you can waffle on about how the N64 single stick controls haven't translated very well to a dual stick pad rendering a few of the games difficult to play due to a camera you have to wrestle with. You could have a go at the difficulty of some of the games due to their place in history.

Calling the collection a poor port with little regard from the devs shows you up to have not played it, as the additions in the form of mini challenges, the supplementary videos and overall presentation is beyond comparison. You're trolling with zero substance other than some shite you read somewhere with on the internet. Give it a rest you plum.

Indeed thought it was exceptionally well presented and put together. One of the best presented compilations I've seen and I've seen a few ????.

And for £20 jeez it's a gift. Nintendo or Sony would have been charging £2-3 each just for the NES level games on this let alone the 360 games you are getting. And then the N64 games etc.

Anyway guess some people are hard to please these days :D.

XBO is now my gaming console of choice these days. The team at MS have turned this around completely I was sooooo disheartened back on its announcement.

Great great console, dash upgrade is going to make it even more so.

+1 to Boozy. Rare Replay is a fantastic collection of games and really great value. I would go as far to say its one of the best retro collections I have ever played and something like Sonic mega collection, which I had on the Gamecube, pales in comparison. Its just a shame the DKC games cant be included (for obvious reasons).

Do the Live Arcade/360 games have additional new challenges? No? Right.

Yeah, I guess that proves it's a rubbish compilation

It's not wrong to want a unified experience, so yes.

Do they need any?

What's the point in playing if you need a meta-game to enjoy the actual game?

As a Rare fan that's played many of these games hundreds of times before, and some games of which i've only just played on the previous Xbox system (Xbox 360) and paid money for those games, only to get just the same exact representations of them again in this compilation, why wouldn't actual Rare fans be disappointed? If I'm expected to pay for the same games that I can already play on the same system thanks to BackCompat, why wouldn't I expect more?

And just more generally, as mostly a N64 era fan, why wouldn't I expect extras? Why should I be okay with Xbox 360 ports? One which takes you out of the experience, no less, not even made unifed with everything else.

Another gripe: the 360 Live Arcade versions of Kazooie and Tooie are ignored by speedrunners, why? You can't skip the cutscenes (or was it dialogue). Resulting in those communities still sticking to the original N64 versions. This compilation could have righted that wrong, but no, lazy live arcade emulation.
