Xbox One Console Thread

Mine went to shit about three months after I got my original console. Boxed it up to return to Microsoft, and then didn't get around to it for a few weeks, by which time I realised I didn't miss it in the slightest. So it's still on a shelf, all boxed up to send to Microsoft. That was over a year ago.

Has anyone else Kinect gone to shit?

Mine keeps turning itself off... Microsoft want £50 to fix it!

Mine is really flacky now. The light comes on but the console claims it's not attached. Sometimes unplugging it from the console and plugging it back in again will revive it for a short while.

I don't use it much but it was quite amusing listening to my seven year old shouting 'XBox On' at it for ages the other day! Eventually he did give up and use the remote to turn it on.

Yeah, my Kinect has gone like this. Has been happening for the past 2 months or so, but I'm too lazy to do anything about it. It makes me realise how much I miss it though (as opposed to the ones saying they don't miss it), the joy I had when it worked for a couple of days after coming home from holiday was great. Gone again now though...

Bit weird this, as mine is the same. Voice recognition used to be spot on. It's terrible now.

Have the Kinects with problems been moved around much? The intermittent fault sounds like a bad connection. Perhaps the cable's really fragile?

Mine has moved house once (apart from that it's not been moved), and it started doing it before it was moved, although it has got worse and worse recently. I'm of the mind that it is indeed a connection issue with mine as one time I managed to get it to be recognised again by seemingly just moving the cable about.

I think that's exactly what it is, I blew into the port and cable connection last night, plugged it back in and touch wood, it's been fine ever since.
