Xbox One Console Thread

I downloaded the demo of elite dangerous, it's pretty damn hard! Doesn't give much away as to what you have to do either...

You need to do the tutorials and watch the videos.

I don't think it's particularly friendly either, but I was having a good time playing combat tutorials last night. Beware, if you google there are lots of people saying "how do I..." I guess that's how it is with early access games..?

Oh Hey!

I bought an Xbox One yesterday and have no idea what to get for it.

I've not looked at a single thing about them since launch, so wouldn't mind some advice on exclusives worth picking up over the next month or so.

The only game I'm picking up so far is Halo: master chief edition (or whatever it's called) tomorrow!

Battlefield 4 Premium

Ori

GTA V

Halo TMCC

Far Cry 4

Tomb Raider

World Of Tanks

Destiny

Elite Dangerous

Lego Batman 3 Deluxe Edition (at the moment it's something like £15 down from £60 on Xbox Store)

Oh, and EA Access. It is ridiculously good value for money (£20 per year for a shitload of games).

Hey!

Get Titanfall would be my main suggestion. It is amazing.

If you've not played it elsewhere and thought the previous games were OK, get Batman.

Bloody hell, EA Access is $29 but Titanfall and a load of other stuff is in there. Roll on September.

Oh, for any yank Live users, Amazon has 12 months live codes delivered for $43. Note, delivered to your door, not email. The email codes are, curiously, still $59.

Gold codes aren't region locked so remember when you see these UK deals for £19 etc you can still take advantage of them.

I did put a thread in Wanted, but I know not a lot of people check it, so if anyone has a Kinect for Xbox One collecting dust, send me a message with a price.

CEX are doing them for £35...but that would mean visiting CEX ;)

So, stuck in halo master chief edition!

Great, some co-op action on my day off!

19gb update required...

19gb??! Fuck me!

Why??

Because this is the new age of gaming...lol. Its worse when you join the party late as there will be a whole raft of patches to get since the game was launched and they have been a few for Halo MCC I believe. Something you get used too TBH and it can do it in the background. Just leave it in doing it at night or play something else for a bit.... :)

I'm guessing it is on disc, so it's mostly the multiplayer component downloading as the whole thing is around 60GB and wouldn't fit on one disc. Don't know if that includes co-op.

Who sent me the Xbox Preview Program? Thanks, whoever it was.

Can I now go about checking backwards compatibility? Or isn't that available yet? Only had a quick 5 minute go on it this morning, so am probably missing something.

I'm in the same boat - didn't request an invite but some kind soul sent me one and despite my slight misgivings I've signed up. For BC you either insert a disc and follow the instruction to install the game, or if it was a digital purchase it should appear in the "ready to install" section to the right of the download screen. There is an issue with the Rare titles though, presumably in anticipation of Replay.

Another small update coming down now.

I sent one but I think there will have been multiple invites sent out.

Go Team Xbox! :)
