I would highly recommend people get Elite Dangerous. I was playing it last night (doing the tutorials again because I had left it too long since last time to remember what does what) and suggest getting yourself in a comfy chair with your feet out in front of you and as close to the tv as you can manage. Turn the lights lowish. Flying about and putting freelook on so you can look at ships as they fly above you, is pretty great. It feels like flying a spaceship, just for a second. It's a great feeling. I imagine it's insane with an occulus rift.

I just received a message from Xbox Live telling me that the preview program is updating to accommodate new backwards compatibility titles or something. What's that all about?

the message i got just says i have to delete and reinstall certain games in order to continue playing them, however i just booted up and started playing 2 of the games that judging by the message should no longer work and they work fine so, god knows. unless they mean in preperation for an upcoming update

Which games are they listing? Which games have already been available on Xbox? I've only got Perfect Dark.

Hello xbox pals, how are you? I've just got my xbox back from microsoft after the disc drive stopped working, and want to try being backwards for a while. Yoshimax sent me a preview program invite a while ago but nothing came through - I'd really appreciate it if loads and loads of you could send me invites just to hammer the point home to Microsoft that I'm not a man to be trifled with.

My xbox live 'tag' is Mystery Twig.

£180 from gumtree with bf: hardline and another headset, only 6 months old he said, which may be a lie.

Also got a kinect for £25, so a good day I think.

Have gold and ea access for free games too and a lovely copy of forza horizon 2. Aces.

Any preview program invites going? I'm pfspl33n. Thanks.

Screw it, I'm in. Ordered the Forza 6 limited edition, my first non-bog standard console. Apparently, the order is still processing, hopefully that doesn't mean they've run out of stock already (was direct from the MS store).

Surprised the order went through, MS seem to be having a lot of system issues tonight, even seems to be affecting Outlook.com, etc.

edit - off to a strained start. Got an email back saying there was an error, and to call and quote the order number. Call them, on hold for 15 minutes, get as far as someone who sent a 2 factor code to my email address and the call went all to crap and we couldn't hear each other, just about made out a number he said to call. Call it, on hold for 20 minutes, give up. Call back the other number, on hold for 20 minutes, get through to someone and the call cuts out in the middle of giving my order number. Sigh.

Need to get my pre-order in for Forza 6 just going for the standard version on disk because I like boxes!

Paid £35 for my Kinect from Cex. There was a point when they crept upto silly money for a while but seemed to have dropped in price lately. Glad I got one.

Ah, I guess they were just rammed and having issues last night. Got straight through to them this morning, order hadn't gone through, so he put another one in. They're going to leave the case open so that once this thing ships, they'll check if I got it ok. Bonkers.

does anyone know if Money on a xbox account will transfer across to say dollars if switching region on the xbone

I'm pretty sure it doesn't - Last few times where I've bought stuff from the Hungarian store it's only given me the option to pay with my card despite having money on the account.

Oh Hey!

I bought an Xbox One yesterday and have no idea what to get for it.

I've not looked at a single thing about them since launch, so wouldn't mind some advice on exclusives worth picking up over the next month or so.

The only game I'm picking up so far is Halo: master chief edition (or whatever it's called) tomorrow!
