Xbox One Console Thread

Just changed back to UK from US and the install option is gone, so seems its to do with installing it when it was set to UK, and then when its set to US it thinks it has to install it again or something, despite it being there and playable when set to US

Ori works fine in both regions, no problem at all.

Edit: After changing back to US, its back again. Bugger it, I just hid the install option. Still, bit weird.

Not the Xbox's fault, I know, but ACIV is fucking terrible. Glad it was free as I almost bought it several times on PS4 or Wii U and I'd imagine it would have been just as shit on either of those. Forza Horizon 2 still hasn't downloaded. MCC and Titanfall in the queue. So... Slow.

No idea if there's any useful info but it appears that UK downloads are going slowly according to reddit.

I downloaded Ori and Elite Dangerous yesterday and thought they were slow, and they're small downloads. It must be a pain waiting for MCC to come down, I'd suggest cancelling that one so it's at the back of the queue, it's massive, Titanfall is comparatively small.

I've found downloads slow on Xbox Live recently if I switch my Xbox to sleep mode to leave them downloading. If I leave it switched on then they seem to download at my full internet speed.

I've found that too, not sure why it's happening though!!

Yeah DL does seem to be very slow after the last few days, bought Shadow of Mordor, and Telltale Games collection in the sale and it took about 24 hours to DL them all. At normal speeds they should have come down in about 5 hours I think.

Played about an hour of Shadow of Mordor and it's absolutely fantastic, a real must buy if you like your LOTR and the Batman games (which it borrow heavily from).

Mentioned the new backwards compatibility to the missus. She said we should get a One eventually, when the 360 dies. It's an RRODd 60gig model that I've repaired and is now bulletproof. Doh.

Wait till she is out and get that old thing opened up, shouldn't be too difficult to loosen one or two of the screws you stuck in for the heatsink and let it start warming up a little :P

There's something about an Achievement 'pop' which I find so much more satisfying than a trophy 'ring'.

Oh Xbox, I'm glad to be back!

Yep its lovely... kind of "Ah I'm home" feeling.

Think the Xbox 360 has to be my favourite gaming console ever. I'm warming to the Xbox One although still think the interface is a mess!! I'll be waiting eagerly to see what they do with the revamp.

In other news got a Kinect for it today and spent the last 30mins talking way to it. So what can I do with it? Looking for some fitness software for winter... Not sure what else it adds really needs some investigation.

Do you guys out there who have the Kinect find it useful for what? :)

Like ordering the Xbox around though. Especially when watching something when the phone rings. Nice just telling the thing to pause than look around for a remote.

Also going to be using it for work meetings too when I'm working from home on Skype. Camera is really good quality...

I picked up Fighter Within for £2.99 from HMV today. I've heard it's terrible but it's the main thing I want to play on the Kinect. Any other Kinect recommendations?

Fantasia is quite fun, and the rabbids game is alright if you get it cheap and fancy a laugh, I doubt it has much longevity to it once you have seen all the story clips.

BBC IPlayer works well with kinect, I imagine the TV integration with voice commands is the strongest feature. I don't watch tv myself. It's good for navigating the UI and pretty responsive when jumping between games, snap and apps. Take a scteenshot and record that are where it really shines.

FH2 uses it well to keep you in the game and Fantasia is decent too.

Agreed, it's a much more satisfying sound.

Did you just get an Xbone? :)

Yep. Thursday. Been Wii U and PS4 so far this gen.

With GwG and EA Access, I have 10 or so amazing games, basically for nothing. I wish EA Access was also on PS4 - amazing value.

There's loads of Xbox Fitness routines free if you are on gold.

They're brilliant and the Mossa one makes me sweat like a nervous pig.

Great just been looking. Insanity sounds like just the ticket come September... :D I in fact the cost of the Kinect and Insanity will be less than two months gym membership near me. So even if its not what I hoped still have the investment to use for other things. :)

Great! Looking forward to seeing the subtle things it adds... I feel my itch has been scratched regarding having the complete Xbox One experience now that I have the Kinect.

Looking forward to doing some workouts with it come winter too... :)
