You're running a beta version so there can be bugs which is the whole point.

To be fair though, I don't think I've encountered a single bug in almost the year I've been on it.

Constant updates, and dealing with buggy dashboards. I frequently have to do a hard reboot when using the first couple of preview updates each month, but after that it's fine.

The benefit of getting to try out new features easily outweighs the negatives for me.

Surprisingly, this is indeed worth listening to. Sounds like this controller is exceptionally well designed. I'm super impressed at the lengths they've gone to.

Master Chief has 4 of the things or 5 if you grab ODST. Doesn't get much stronger than that it'll keep you going a long time.

Otherwise I'd say Far Cry 4 it's superb.

Got both, thanks. Enjoying Far Cry 4. Been keeping me up until the small hours. The series really does have its own vibe.

Good to see the entertaining FC bugs are still present, there's nothing like an enemy flying miles up into the sky when you throw a small knife at him. Had a few Rhino related mishaps already too.

With Wolfenstein on its way from SnoopZakaDave (thanks, sir) I'm all set.

That Elite controller is good news. Not least for it finally letting players configure the layout without restriction. I'm looking at you, Far Cry 4.

I have 260 saves to upload in preparation for 360 backwards compatibility. Ive done the As, and mass effect 1,2, and 3.

Otherwise you'll find yourself picking a feature or two they discuss to convince yourself that you really need one.

e.g. " Yes I would prefer to use a trigger for my sword in Witcher."

Anyone know if you'll you be able to remap all buttons on this controller or is there any plan for MS to introduce that at the system level like the PS4?

According to that podcast, yes. Also according to that podcast remapping buttons usually introduces milliseconds of delay as you introduce an extra command to the process of pressing the button.

The more I use the regular pad the more I like it and I've convinced myself I've no need for the elite one.

I've never used paddles and don't really like the idea, either. Can't see myself taking the time to remap things to them for each and every game. The video they did on the controller was really cool, though.

I suspect the answer is yes

I definitely don't need one. But being able to set games up so they behave in a similar way controller-layout wise is a big plus as I only play one game at a time and get confused when I switch.

Interesting that AMD would cost less than twice as much as Minecraft cost them.

Also there's all sorts of things like their x86 license becoming invalid if they're bought which complicate matters, so I really don't know what's in it for MS.

Also they'd not save $100 every time a new xbox was made, amd is loss making, they'd suddenly be in competion with Intel and nvidia, previous hardware manufacturer purchases have been failures etc.

They'd have their direct competitor bent over a table with it's trousers around it's ankles when it comes to the next iteration of home consoles ensuring they'd never have to endure the embarrasment of not having the most powerful console on the block next time around. Along with profiting from every PS4 sold as a wee bonus.

If Microsoft is looking at AMD, then I'd imagine that it'll be about becoming more like Apple as far as bringing as much hardware stuff as they can in-house.

If Microsoft bought AMD, then Sony would be faced with a bad set of choices: put money in Microsoft’s pocket every time it sells a PlayStation

How is AMD in trouble when they're getting money from Sony AND Microsoft for their chips?
