Microsoft did very well with Rare Replay coming in at No. 1. Of course, this is Amazon U.K., and Rare is a U.K. developer. It’s likely that the Rare Replay collection is getting some home-country love. But even if you remove that from the list, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is also right at the top and ahead of anything from the other publishers.

all of a sudden it's ok for consoles to receive remakes of last-gen games, yeah?

There's a world of difference, of which I'm sure you're aware, between a full price "remaster" of games a couple of years old, and a £20 release of 30 games that span the last 30 years or so.

GoW isn't that old!

Ok, had a bit of a strange problem with my console today.

My wife turned it on earlier to play Tomb Raider, and she said the screen was really dark from the start. Just like it goes after you've left it idle for a while and the screen dims.

She reset the console, and that went away. However, the game crashed a few times.

I've just turned it on to play Battlefield 4, and the screen was really dark. I reset the console, and the screen was back to normal. However, I started Battlefield 4 and it crashed on the initial loading screen.

I'm going to call Microsoft tomorrow, but before I do, I wondered if anyone had experienced this, or heard of it happening?

The only thing I can think of, and I hope it is as simple as this, is that it's been set to Instant On for ages. I've just set it to Energy Saver mode, in the hope that it just needs to be properly turned off. On the basis that the vast majority of technology issues are resolved with 'switch it off and then on again', I've also unplugged it, and will check it later tonight.

Is GAF worse than this place then for Sony crazies?

It's basically the videogame equivalent to what Liverpool's R.A.W.K is to football forums. Delusion, Ignorance, sheer joylessness and lack of appreciation of anything else.

Don't even waste your time reading it.

I've been looking for the best sub-£300 XBO deals and have tried the usual mainstream places: Amazon, Game, Currys, MS Store, Argos but don't know many indie or specialist stores or other high street ones I might have missed. Any suggestions for shops or deals please?

It never used to be like that, but that is the perfect summary of what it became.

But. It's. So. Tempting.

Surely I can go and take a little look, yeah?
