Xbox One Console Thread

Ah the Sony Defence Force appears.

What, the guy that owns a PS4, Xbox One, PC and Wii U?

I was just pointing out that the juvenile need to call games "drive crud" or whatever fits in well with some of Xbox One crowd here.

I bought a Bone today.

I've been happy with the PS4, but the Rare collection won me over. Plus I can now play some decent driving games - been enjoying Forza and Horizon, after two frustrating weeks with Drive Crud.

Get Ori.

Well you didn't say SOME. I was being tarred with that. Guess what? I also own the same things you own, yet I get labelled as part of the Bone Defence Squad. Really annoying isn't it? :)

I mentioned this in the 'Sony customer service is shit' thread, but I had cause to call Microsoft customer service earlier today.

Basically, I'd purchased Battlefield 4 from the Store, but didn't get Premium Edition with all of the DLC. I played one game, remembered why I'd sunk 100+ hours into it on 360, and decided I needed the full package.

Despite the extremely clear 'no refunds' policy that comes up every time you purchase something, I knew that it wouldn't be a problem when I called Microsoft to ask for a refund. And it wasn't. The call was finished in about 5 minutes. The money will be back in my account in 72 hours or less, the license for BF4 was immediately revoked, and I was free to purchase Battlefield 4 Premium Edition Straight away.

Also, on the security front, after asking for my email address, they sent a security code to my phone via SMS, which I had to relay to them before we went any further. A quick, simple, efficient form of 2FA.

So, yeah, Microsoft customer service sorted me out on the first phone call, no hassle, no bullshit, for something that was effectively a mistake that I had made.

I don't know what goes to show they're doing it right more, though. The fact they sorted it out so easily, or the fact that before even placing the call, I knew they would?

so my KInect stopped working awhile ago. I think it was after an update... I thought i would just need to hard reset - so i did - but still no dice.

it getting no power. I think its out of warranty now... how good are MS at repairing stuff and not changing a fortune?

Depending on what happens and if they charge it may be worth buying another second hand, I got mine a few months ago from cash converters online shop, and have seen them going for £35-£45.
