Can't wait to use Cortana. One thing in the video I saw was the ability to say things like "Hey Cortana, record the last x minutes" That's some really nice flexibility on the recording side. MEans I don't have to go back and trim stuff later.

Not one, but two, but three mega exclusives to be missing out on. On top of No Man's Sky.

I'm a very disappointed Xbone owner tonight.

Pretty sure they've said it's timed, unspecified window, much like Elite.

From Sony's conference:

"Debut" vs "Exclusive" = As close to a confirmed Xbox release as you can get? I'm surprised Sony haven't gone the whole hog and paid for full exclusivity.

Don't be silly, they spent all their money on exclusive betas. But don't forget, it's only moneyhatting if MS does it.

Since Grabbed by the Ghoulies is on the Rare Replay compilation doesn't that mean they have an original Xbox emulator up and running on the one too?

I've just reported this post instead of quoting it, sorry. I put my reply in the report box and submitted it and everything before I realised what I'd done. For the record I was not offended or otherwise upset or concerned by the contents of Revival's post but a ban for him is pretty much inevitable now.

EDIT: In my original reply I suggested that they have probably recompiled the source code for this release unless we think that they are running an N64 emulator on the Xbox too.

Gears Ultimate Edition Beta felt a bit 'off' at first. Probably due to the 1080/60 resolution, but trying out some of the old tricks like the melee stun/Shotgun combo didn't work anymore, or at least didn't look like it was connecting.

There's definitely some stuff that's wonky, including the gnasher hit detection. I think the hit-boxes have changed or there are other detection issues.

Some matches are like playing on-host (assuming it's not defaulted to P2P) and in others the latency is really high. I played TDM on War Machine (yay!) last night and was racking up the Torque Bow kills on moving targets without issue - it felt perfect. On the other hand, you can aim down sights at a downed enemy and shoot them multiple times from point blank range before they actually die. Melee seems weightless too - it doesn't feel like it's connecting/registering.

The spawn switching is broken at the moment though. Twice last night the other team got spawn-trapped on War Machine and couldn't get down the first set of stairs. It was a total massacre. It's a shame because I imagine that's some players first experience of the game and they could be completely turned off it.

Bizarrely you appear to be able to weapon slide in this; I did it last night despite having no idea how - guy on the other bridge on Canals was probably annoyed :P

Active downs with the sniper are still a thing, which is disappointing and they've used the Gears 2/3 sound effect which was never as satisfying as the original. Oddly, active reloads were turned off last night, despite the mechanic still being operable. No idea why they're testing option as it's a core part of the game mechanics.
