I'll x-post this here as a complementary piece to the above:

Remember when it was a funny joke to everyone?

Any game they decide to stream.

Edit : just to be clear that article relates to streaming games and the use of predictive algorithms and "load sharing" to massively improve the bandwidth used but for something like the new Crackdown where you're going to pass some data and get some back relating to destructive physics computations many of the same principles can be applied. You're talking about potentially no more up and downstream data than what is happening in an online fps. It's not like every frame has to be calculated on the server side.

Beach Buggy Racing is out this Friday. Sounds like they've done a fair bit of reworking.

Great news, fans, Beach Buggy Racing is officially coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on May 29, 2015! Completely retuned, remastered, and refined for a premium experience (MSRP: USD $9.99), Beach Buggy Racing boasts some awesome split screen multiplayer action for the most epic of parties and up-rezzed graphics. Kart racing action has never looked so vivid.

Here are some of the awesome features you can expect from the console version, and how it's different from the mobile version:

FULL PREMIUM GAME EXPERIENCE

As many of you know, Beach Buggy Racing on mobile is a free to play game, but for console versions we completely retuned it to make it a full Mario Kart style premium game. Of course we got rid of stuff like timers, ads, and IAPs. But we also completely retuned the game economy so you can earn upgrades easier, and the pace of unlocking stuff is faster.

ALL CARS AND POWERUPS UNLOCKED

One big change we made for the console version is you start with all the cars and all the Powerups unlocked. That means you can experiment with the great car physics and spend your money upgrading multiple cars while you play through the game. And you get the full chaos of all 25 spectacular Powerups unlocked from the very start!

NEW 1000 HP CAREER SERIES

We added a whole new 1000 HP series to Career Mode: The Danger Derby, with McSkelly as the new boss! We also remixed all the series events so you can play all 15 race tracks in Career mode.

SPLIT SCREEN OUT OF THE BOX

Split Screen mode is the lifeblood of kart racing, so of course we give it to you right out of the box, no unlocking required. Play with up to 4 players on PlayStation 4.... and up to 6 (SIX!) players on Xbox One!

EARN GAMER SCORE AND TROPHIES

Of course we support Xbox LIVE and PSN social features. On Xbox One, you can add a full 1000 points to your Gamerscore, and on PS4 you can earn 45 exciting trophies, including a shiny new Platinum Trophy!

BUTTER SMOOTH PERFORMANCE

Battle your way to victory at 60 silky frames per second and crystal clear 1080p resolution, even in split screen modes! You won't believe how good it all looks on a giant TV!

Call of Duty, Screamride and Alien Isolation on sale this week.

It feels a bit like I'm never going to be spending any money in one of these sales!

Alien is excellent however, if you're at all interested in it. Please buy it as I'd love to see a sequel!

I still have credit left from the MS points conversion which expires this week, was hoping for decent sale items :-(

Remember that video about swapping game discs that Sony did? I'd love to see MS stoop to that level and do one based around account theft and console activation just to boot them in the balls whilst they're down and out with no first party exclusives this year.

Problem is, xbox division has no money left, after buying all the games.

Ps. You meant 3rd party, right?

I don't know what you mean. I think they have a few quid left. I'm saying Sony acted somewhat immaturely with that video and now the shoe is on the other foot as far as PSN accounts are being compromised daily and entire digital libraries stolen with no recourse so If MS felt like putting out a comedy video having a dig (they won't) that would be a good subject to hang it on.

Re: software Andrew House has stated openly they (Sony) have no first party software on ps4 and that they're focussed on trying to secure 3rd party early DLC etc. It's called "money hatting" when MS are doing it.

First party, Sean.

"We are working very hard to continue very strong support from third-party pubs and devs," House said. "Our first-party lineup is a little sparse this year, so I think this places even greater emphasis on getting good third-party support."

That doesn't necessarily mean exclusive third-party support. To date, House said Sony has been primarily trying to get multiplatform developers to simply take advantage of features the PS4 has over the competition, like SharePlay, or maybe include extra content in the PS4 version or give players early access to add-on content. Third-party exclusives are still an option, just not a frequently used one.

...I'm saying Sony acted somewhat immaturely with that video...

No they didn't. MS' plans for game sharing were a massive clusterfuck. Execs could not describe how it would work, and this was only a few months before the console was due to launch. The Sony video may not have been very high brow, but it was a marketing response to a very poorly thought out and unpopular feature of their competition's console (and one which looked to be designed for publishers' benefit, not users'). And it helped to draw attention to the advantage of retaining disk-based ownership rights, which benefitted all customers.

I think MS should emphasise their better customer service frameworks, but they need to find a simple way to do this which resonates with the customer base. Perhaps some scheme where MS compansate people who lose access to their PSN games through hacks. For example if you lose access to your PSN account due to a chargeback on purchases then MS will give you 3 months of Live and a download code for a game of your choice when you buy an XB1. The big problem is that people are only really aware of CS departments when they encounter a problem. The PSN issues, whilst indefensible, are still small scale enough that most PS4 owners are probably unaware that they even exist. We all care about it. But if you are a PS4 owner who only buys CoD and FIFA games, or a parent whose child only plays Minecraft on the machine then you probably do not even buy anything through the PSN store anyway.

I think because there's such a PS4 bias on the forum in terms of sale numbers people do get a bit defensive. Plus when forumites are saying that games like Ori and Horizon 2 have been over touted just because they're on Xbox, well that's a little immature.

I'm hoping for a corker of an E3 from both though, competition is good and the next few months have got some really excellent multi format titles to tide me over until Halo 5 happens.

Whatever makes you happy I guess. I come to this thread seeing if there's anything that interests me enough to buy an xbox one, and it's great when there's a lot of positivity, but there's still this odd defensiveness surrounding it. It's 2 companies, it doesn't need the playground console warz. Dunno, comes across a little sensitive to me. Whatever - I look forward to E3 when hopefully the focus is on great exclusives. I just hope people don't revert to criticising the other megacorp rather than enjoying their own things to look forward to.

I tend to agree with this and prefer reading people talking about games without any console wars crap. However after some of the negative shit spewing from the mouths of forumites here like Haribo or Uncle Mike to name but two during the launch period and beyond, I can see why people like to revel in it whenever the shoe is on the other foot and I can't begrudge them that.

Besides everyone knows the E3 conferences are all going to be crap. Whoever manages to be the least crap will be seen as some sort of glorious winner but Sony have no games, Microsoft have killed their interesting games and put those studios into HD remasters so look forward to Battletoads HD, Gears HD and why not Brute Force at this point while Nintendo have no Zelda and might be focusing their resources on NX which they aren't talking about. This E3 will be all about the PC and the rise of VR systems.

E3 should be interesting. I think if Sony manage to release 1 or 2 big hitters this year they won't get too rough a ride on here. I'm not interested in bloodborne so right now I use it for BF4 mostly. Next thing I'm looking forward to is Uncharted 4 and No Man's Sky. Both out next year.
