It was at launch, they then updated it to remove everything and now they've added some more basic functionality back in. No where near as good as bbc iplayer but you can now select programs and login through kinect.

Does it? It doesn't seem to for me, when I say "Xbox Select" it doesn't offer me the option of selecting anyone once the app has loaded, I have to pick up a pad to choose my name.

Is there a setting I need to adjust?

I want to play my new machine :'( It spent 40 minutes downloading an update to the dashboard when I first powered it up, and now it appears you can't play Forza Horizon 2 without it installing, which it's doing at about 1% per minute. Foolish foolish me for thinking I'd just quickly set it up have a quick half an hour of racing before bed.

That seems a bit optimistic. It let me launch the game at 22% installed, but then told me it needs to install a 3.6GB update before I can actually play it. Might just about be done by tomorrow tea time if I'm lucky. I never thought I'd be missing the speedy loading times of the Spectrum, when a mere 30 minutes elapsed before you could have a go.

I believe people say the installs are quicker from disc when you disconnect from the internet, do the disc part and then connect to do any patching. You might as well just leave it going now though, obviously.

If you add your games with gold now, it can do those while you're asleep.

I played a lot of Castlestorm tonight, that's a very small download if you want something quick!

Any good? Still playing Rayman Legends almost every day trying to 100% that, still haven't booted up Child of Light from last month. Is Castlestorm something equally good I'll want to start or is too painful to consider getting a 1000 on that as well.

And yes, before anyone says it, I'm aware it's a free game, I'm asking purely from an OCD achievement hunter view ;)

I really liked what I played yesterday. I played for about 2 hours stuck on the same level. I set the difficulty to hard and am wondering if I've upgraded my weapons in the best way... I'm not going to put the difficulty down though. :)

Something about the game really gives me the "one more go" itch for me. I had thought about buying it a while back but didn't have time for it so I'm glad to have got it now, I probably wouldn't have got round to it otherwise.

As for achievements, no idea what kind of a task it might be -I've only got all the achievements on one game!

Fair do's, added it to the DL queue, love a good game like that that I keep going back to. Bit like that with Rayman, booted it for the challenges this morning, 4 hours later I've 100%'d another few worlds :P

I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be with achievement hunting, don't have the time anymore but I tend to steer clear of anything that is predominantly MP based and doesn't really entice me.

It's all going a bit wonky my dash isn't loading assets like gamer pics / tiles etc

Ref digital I haven't bought a disc since about March last year. 1.5tb of storage used up so far

I'm thinking of buying game as downloads in future, due to the convenience. Anybody else stopped buying physical Xbox One games?

If the price is right I go digital but for full price games I stick with physical. I just traded GTA5 back in today for £32 credit which is obviously impossible for a digital purchase.

For me it depends if the game is one I see myself keeping for a long time and i want the convenience of it being a button press/voice command away at all times, or something I'll just complete or fancy seeing what its like then move it on. Though if my friend also wants it then, as we game share, it makes the decision a lot easier!

I stuck a 2TB disk in the back. The only reason I'd buy a game physically is price, and most multiplatform games I'd buy for the PS4 anyway.

On the other hand, I now have lots of Xbone games I've barely played.

Yeah, I started with codes on the bone because that's what the bundle included. My XBL account means I've got digital stuff to play, for example I got titanfall for a tenner, and I already have the multiplatform stuff on ps4. I'm waiting for the launch titles to come in under £20 each, before I pick them up on disc. I want to play ryse. DR3, not so much.

My problem is buying the exclusives... it's just not happening.

Yep. Stuck 2tb hdd onto my console and usually wait until cdkeys is doing £50 credit for the £40 mark and buy it then. Coupled with now being a 5 star VIP xbl reward member which means you get 10% back on each digital purchase and it makes the digital prices much easier to swallow.

Did anyone see the xbox advert on TV last night? There was some strange code type stuff embedded there which flashed up midway through. I just noticed on GAF they're discussing strange codes that have been kicking about for a while.

Yeah, looks fake. All that footage is taken from BO2, unless they're planning on remaking it all for this gen ... but it's way too soon for that.

EDIT: The video has been removed by Activision for copyright infringement, so yeah, looks fake.
