Why would they want to heavily market COD when they've got Halo5 in the chamber though? I think the money is better spent on their own IP. The whole concept of paying a fuckton just so your logo is at the end of an advert for a game which appears on your competitors platform anyway is pretty mental. I don't think anybody ever gave a shit about not getting dlc first either.

I like the spin that they "lost" it rather than decided not to renew - cute way to put it

A mate of mine's Halo download was taking HOURS last night. His internet isn't that slow and he downloaded a 450mb download in less than 5 minutes. Any tips to get the old girl running a bit quicker? I remember someone saying something on here before.

I wondered about that too. I wonder how much it costs to have your logo at the end of an Ad and to what effect. Could that money have bought a new exclusive like Sunset Overdrive/Dead Rising?

I'm under the impression that Destiny sold more on Xbox than PS4, despite the marketing being with Sony. (I can't quickly find a great link but "Playstation Enthusiast" should be fairly even handed about it: http://playstationenthusiast.com/article/destiny-sales-xbox-one/ )

If Sony do decide to co-market COD it'll be interesting to see what the split on sales will be, since we have numbers for system sales and historical data about the last couple of Microsoft promoted COD games that launched this generation we should be able to see what effect that promotion has on the split this time around. I wonder if the falling sales of COD haven't been reflected in how much money Activision wants for the deal?

It's possible that Sony are more prepared to spend on 3rd party releases than Microsoft this time around since I'm under the impression that Microsoft have lots of big exclusives set for release this year and Sony don't.

E3 will be interesting!

It sort of did, but probably didn't: NPD is US only, and they don't count bundled copy sales (Destiny had an official bundle) and they don't count digital.

Playstation was supposedly the top platform for Destiny when looked at worldwide.

Halo is about 65GB by now.

Presumably because you failed to leave the console in "instant on" mode or it had taken a firmware update and rebooted itself to the shutdown state. Plus as I said in the other thread it's a delta patch it doesn't download the whole 1.6gb

No to both of those.

Also, what the hell is a delta patch?

TL DR Version: Modern consoles are shit. Publishers abusive, and gaming a hassle.

Update: According to another source, Brink and Dirty Bomb developer Splash Damage is working on the Xbox One remaster of Gears of War. The U.K.-based studio has several job listings that say it's working on a "very well known and highly popular AAA title with next gen technology." We've reached out to Splash Damage for comment.

Update 2: We've seen some multiplayer screenshots of the Gears of War remaster, and it appears that the Xbox One game features improved lighting and increased texture quality. We're told that the multiplayer runs at 60 frames per second.

Gears of War remake confirmed.

3 years might be stretching it but I remember getting a pretty solid 6 months out of the original's MP back in the day. We used to get taken apart almost every game by this guy.

Then someone worked out the host advantage issue and we moved on.

Great days though. Tons of Oooooohs and laughs in every game.

Gears 1 was the first game I ever played online - it was a complete revelation. Party Chat didn't exist then which led to us building up a really friendly group of regulars playing into the early hours on Friday and Saturday nights. There were so many hilarious sessions with funny/weird/mental randoms that the game itself was just part of the fun. Even after Gears 2 released we all preferred the first game and carried on playing that until people finally moved onto other games like MW2 after the player numbers dropped. But those games never had the same sense of camaraderie and good times that we got from GoW1.

It'd be great if the remake/remaster can rekindle some of that.

I'm hoping the Gears remake is this year. Halo, Forza, Gears and Tomb Raider would be a great second half line up after the lacklustre first half of the year.

The beta is running already so I think E3 or thereabouts is a safe bet ;)

£12! I can't help but think that games that look like they belong on C64 should be priced at C64 game rates. I just can't get past it.

I played a lot of State Of Decay yesterday. I went to bed having just had one of my characters killed and seeing the game save icon appear on screen. Brutal!

I'm not really sure about the base/outpost building mechanic at the moment but I assume all will become clear shortly.

It seems to be like this will be a game that needs to be played a few times to get all the systems lined up for maximum success.

It reminds me a little bit of Rebuild, the mobile game, made 3d and more intense.
