Yes - always is with these EA trials.

Just realised I meant to start the download before I went out. You can't do EA Access downloads through smart glass, can you?

If any other EA Access subscribers are interested in playing the ten hours but are unlikely to buy the game afterwards, we should organise a game to try and get the most out of it. :)

Phil Spencer's new vision for Xbox One :

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-03-13-microsofts-new-vision-for-the-xbox-one?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialoomph

On Halo :

Spencer's tenure at Microsoft hasn't been without its bumps. In a terrible Christmas season for new games, with Sony's DriveClub and Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Unity all having disastrous launches, Microsoft's Halo: The Master Chief Collection was quite possibly the worst offender. It's only now, some four months after its release, that it's coming somewhere close to offering an acceptable online experience. What went wrong, and what's been done to make sure it won't happen again?

You know, there's a bunch of learning that would take longer than 15 minutes on how we ended up where we ended up, which is more of a systems discussion, actually. We did not know it was going to be as bumpy as it was when we launched, which is our fault. Our job is to know the quality of the experience.

Spencer says the Halo 5 beta running so early will help 343 avoid similar problems in the future. Meanwhile the latest update has finally got The Master Chief Collection back on its feet - even if the four months it took to get to an acceptable state is far from satisfactory.

We're not going to stand up and say anything's fixed, but the team's stayed on, the dedication of making it better, and that's an important People can get frustrated with us, they can get frustrated with Halo and 343, but the commitment of the team to not abandon the situation, but actually stay on it, deliver on what they wanted to deliver on - content update 13 isn't the last update we're going to do, we're going to do more as we have a commitment to the fans on Xbox Live, and most importantly to Halo.

Has anyone else had a problem with their Xbox One pad?

Mine thinks it's pushing up every now and then and kind of fucks fames like DOA up for me. It's also a problem in GTA. Last night when playing online I went for a piss and came back to see my guy had when on a stroll off a cliff.

Is it going to be a pain to get it replaced?

I've got one that does exactly this. Keep meaning to contact ms to replace it. It's like drift on the left analogue stick so it starts moving up all the time when left neutral.

I'd give MS a call; whenever the same thing happened with my 360 controllers they were brilliant at sending out replacements; although I think the last time they wanted mine back before they sent a new one out (which was fine; they paid but it had to go to Germany so it took a while) - perhaps because the system was getting some abuse.

Have you tried resyncing it with the console? Plug it in and use it etc.

I've sent back two pads so far, each time there was an issue with the "A" button, MS were great and sent me a label, I dropped the pad off at the local UPS drop off point and a brand new one ( with a few days gold card) was with me within a week or two, no good if you have only got the one pad though.

My TV tuner seems to be knackered. So I spoke to customer services who tried a few things to no avail. I asked if it could be replaced and he told me that because I bought it on the 3rd of December it was out of warranty as they only carry 90 days. He told me I'd have to buy a new one.

I then went onto the service site and put my details in and they've sent me a prepaid postage label and said they'll either fix it or send me out a new one free of charge.

But weird after what the support monkey told me.

I've also had a look online for another, because this'll mean I'm without TV for as long as it's away, but nowhere has any in stock.

Looks like no TV for me then while it's being repaired.

I'm guessing he was reading from the wrong script? Sounds like you were quoted the USA warranty unless it's an import?

For those experiencing the Ori instant on glitch, when in the dash, just start another game, press the home button again, then load Ori again.

I just need some clarity on the instant on/auto download thing.

The help text references only updates from what I've seen. However, will it download games that you've purchased automatically?

We're out at the minute and the console is at home switched off (set to instant on). However I've just purchased Tomb Raider DE through SmartGlass, as my wife recently started it on the 360 and loves it.

When we get home in a few hours, will it be fully downloaded, installed, and ready to go?
