I 1000G'd that Jetski game - it's absolutely superb especially on the higher levels once you've upgraded your vehicle or bought a better one. For a fiver you really shouldn't let it pass you by especially if you like racing games or are hankering for some hydro-thunder with tricks.

Two standout things about it are that the framerate never, ever seems to dip below 60 and the AI doesn't seem to cheat. If it goes by you it's using boost it has earned by tricking same as you.

Nice, I have £4.50 in my account that I need to spend, might just go get this :)

New controller firmware update for dashboard preview members :

If you are a member of the Xbox Preview Program, I recommend you update your Xbox One controller(s) with the latest preview build (OS version > 1502.150120) which provides the following updates:

•Quick Connect – previous controller connections to an Xbox One took 4-5 seconds when powering on a controller, now they should occur in ~2 seconds

•Stability improvements – the firmware also provides a number of fixes that address issues submitted by customers and preview participants

To update your controller firmware:

  • Connect a controller to your Xbox One with a USB cable. Keep any headsets connected to the controller.
  • Connect to Xbox Live.
  • Press the Menu
  • Go to Settings > Devices & accessories. Select the controller.
  • If you have multiple controllers attached, you can select Buzz – which will cause the selected controller to vibrate.
  • Then select Update to download the new firmware to the controller attached via the USB cable, and the screen will show the Updating controller … progress screen
  • When you see the Controller updated screen, press ‘B’ to go back to the Devices & accessories main page
  • Reselect the controller, the Firmware version, should now be: 1.2.2236.0
For additional information, please visit the Xbox controllers website or read this article about Xbox controller connect issues.

Thanks for helping make Xbox One better and better!

I completely agree with this, had it for awhile on my fire TV where it's good but the framerate wasn't always the best, on the one it's rock solid and the graphics look a little better.

Really worth the £4 or what ever it is.

Finishing a race last night and accidentally trying a stunt just before the line. It got me an achievement for winning a race but not on the jet ski.

Now the interesting part, I was playing this via my portable HD signed in to a friend's machine with kinect recognising my face/body/genitals and no need to sign in other than picking up the controller ( having previously given the machine my details a while ago.)

I record the clip using my voice and it's there on my activity feed when I check it on my own box at home. Da Cloud is real.

Also had a great laugh last night with Dead Rising 3 in co op. I'm also thoroughly enjoying Tomb Raider DE and have to mention the free table that comes with Pinball Arcade. Utterly addictive particularly as it has comprehensive explanations of the tables history and player goals.

Now the bad stuff, the party system on the Bone is a fucking mess. It barely works half the time and far too often requires hard resets of the machine to get a party working with active comms. It's fucking terrible, coinciding with the regular resets required from just using the dash and snap features which often results in the system breaking due to IE pointer staying on the dash after you've closed IE and regular freezing of apps/ games there's far too much fucking about and patience required on the part of the user. Like all technology it's great when it's working smoothly but when it isn't the experience is deeply soured. Then it works again and everything is hunky dory again.

Anyway rant over still loving FM5 on the daily, been playing a wee bit of the Wolf Among Us, using YouTube far too much, much like the majority of my friends list which appears to be watching TV TV TV 80% of the time.

Got an EA Access pass from GAME as it wouldn't accept £20 of Xbox credit and wanted a credit card.

Haven't really touched any of the games other than NFS: Rivals so far recommendations please...

I've built up a healthy pile of shame so far through the numerous sales over Xmas and am thinking of buying DA:I this week so it can gather dust on the HD until I get around to it.

3 months in and I've no regrets in becoming a bowner in terms of the supposedly poor graphics performance it offers, however the party chat system has proven frustrating far more often than would be considered acceptable and is the main issue with the console at the moment. As far as I can see no one here has any issue with it leading me to believe no one really uses it much as you're mostly single player gamers.

I use party all the time (when I'm on) and it works pretty much all the time. I've had a couple of problems with not being able to hear people or them not being able to hear me, but that was during the dark days of the Halo launch, which I think contributed somehow. I haven't had any problems with any other game that I can remember.

The party issues have nothing to do with any specific games. It's the number of times where I've seen people entering the party but the wee green circle isn't next to their name meaning we can't chat, usually leading to one or all of us having to do a ten second shutdown.

It happens so regularly and with so many different people that it can only be a stability issue with the UI and was never as frequent with the 360.

It's a pain in the arse that shouldn't happen as often as it does.

Having now got to grips with the UI in general it's pretty slick otherwise. I too complained it was overly complex and difficult to find certain features in the early days but now it's become second nature and simple to use even without kinect.

Games wise, Forza 5 has me completely hooked. I can't believe how good the cars feel to drive across the board. It may be a bit more serious than Horizon but the challenge of improving times in rivals mode and the massive choice of cars ( gotta drive 'em all) makes it an everlasting game of which I'll only stop playing once it's follow up comes out.

Sunset I've tried a few times now but can't get on with it's ADHD style and time has been limited lately so I've mostly been staying within my gaming comfort zone.

Horizon 2 I've been ignoring for some strange reason despite really enjoying it every time I do fire it up.

The Wolf Among Us is incredibly well written and stylish in it's art.

Dead Rising which I only saw last night is strangely therapeutic when you need to commit genocidal levels of violence coupled with hilarity as you stick traffic cones/ buckets/ car tyres on the undead's heads.

Killer Instinct is way outside my comfort zone but seems to have a really solid fighting system under it's shiny dress.

Riptide is an awesome cross over of Wave race with Wipeout styled tracks added to Pure's trick system and vehicle customisation, held back only by the small number of tracks but at £4 I can't complain and would gladly buy more if they become available later hopefully with online multiplayer.

That pretty much sums up what I've been playing with twice as many games still in the pile yet to be taken seriously.

Nah sorry Jon party's been dodgy for me for ages to. I'd say it works 50% of the time if I'm being generous.

That's ridiculously bad, it's nothing like that for me. As Wah mentioned, is your, and whoever else is in your party's, NAT open?

Cool I'll look into it and make sure that gets checked first in future. I hope it's that simple, never had the issue with the 360 and the same people/ connections though so it's frustrating when it shouldn't be.

It's shit - shouldn't be so tricky but anybody having trouble should Google their ISP and "party chat issues xbox one" and the answer will be there - my bet is port forwarding - worked for me with BT Homehub.

If you want to play Attrition, you'll have no problems getting a game. It's pure potluck for anything else unfortunately, and that's a goddamn gaming crime.

Yeah, I was late to it, and have only really played Attrition as a result. Finding enough players in any other game type is a pure lottery!

Well worth it at that price though. I'm not a big multiplayer shooter fan, but I absolutely love Titanfall.

It's the other one, the Pinball Arcade which offers a free Arabian Nights table. I think all the tables are recreations of real tables as each features a write up on the creators/ how many we're made.

You get a free table on Pinball FX as well, or at least I have one and have never bought one, check it out, I find the realistic one a little too hard :(

Yes, I am crap at real life pinball as well :P
