is everyone misreading what I said?

if they can get people, who don't own an xbone, and who otherwise wouldn't buy an xbone, because they have a hella PC, buying xbone games, then that is a win, surely?

Of course, it doesn't allow for multiformat titles that would be better on the PC anyway.

yeah, um...

Not really, they may be making less money on that individual game by having it soley on their system, but that means you need to buy the PS3 / PS4 to play it, and once you have that system, you will buy other games, which in turn make the platform holder more money.

That's the point I made in the first sentence of my post.

But... XBox Live *is* MS's gaming platform (take the hardware out of it for a moment). Be it a PC or a XBox One/360. They will all be running MS's OSs/Apps/Games.

Guess at some point we'll see a unified "Windows Store" which will naturally bring all the MS hardware/OS's together anyway. In the end the hardware will become largely irrelevant the value will be in locked into their ecosystem with your MS compatible device of preference. Mmmm. Guess windows store would be just a MS version of steam really. Which is why I guess steam will never appear on Xbox One.

Anyway more people they get onto the Xbox platform the better surely? = more content bought (be it music/games/movies). In fact it would be in MS's interest to actually do this. This is where the money is. XBox One/360 etc are just cheaper entry points into the MS ecosystem.

Also be kind of good to have my friends list on my XBox on my PC too. And play chat with them. Hopefully with Windows 10 we are one step closer to actually seeing XBox games on PC. :)

Found a clear pic of that Windows 10 mock up they did at the recent event:

microsoft-windows-10-live-verge-_1820.jp

Scratch that...

While Spencer said more details about the impact Windows 10 will have on the Xbox One are coming at GDC later this year, he did want to point out one more thing this week: The new Xbox One user interface shown in a screenshot during the Windows press conference isn't necessarily what it will look like when the update hits.

I can't really disagree with any of this. If Windows 10 ends up being what MS want it to be then I wouldn't be that surprised if the Xbox hardware brand becomes the gaming equivalent of the Surface tablet and we start to see a few different options when it comes to hardware spec.

We all knew Windows would come to xbox eventually...right?

We all took the living piss when the original one launched. Tbh it could be a good thing. I'm still working out what that is.

Although controlling Excel would be pretty neat for my line of work.

Don't think it would be a bad thing for either PCs, Xbox or Windows phone.

You could probably already use Excel through Office 365 via the internet browser on XBO. Although I'm imagine it would be a bit tricky to use with a pad! MS's holographic headset, Kinect. Could make for an interesting MS office of the future.

One thing I like about MS at the moment they are trying out different things... I love tinkering with technology and this mind of stuff is starting to feel like what I imagined the future would be years ago. Its the next wave of where information tech and another interesting direction. Really hope they make all this work together.

Just picked up :-

Wolfenstein : The New Order

Dead Rising 3

AC : Unity

Diablo 3

For £60, looks like I will be starting with Wolfenstein, as I am not sure I can stomach the wait for AC to install the game and then all the patches, it can do that tonight whilst I sleep.

If dr3 is original start patching ASAP

Only bought DR3 as it came in the bundle, already played it and didn't get on with it, finally deleted it from the hard drive yesterday, sods law, so even if I did fancy going back through it, it'd mean reinstalling all that shite again, am enjoying Wolfenstein a little, looking forward to seeing how bad AC:U really is tomorrow, and if it truely is terrible, I'll head into Diablo III and see what that is all about, never played any of them before, but seeing as I'd finished all my Xbone games apart from Trials, I wanted some more :)

Interesting... why not just let us play Xbox games on the PC natively? Bring Xbox Live to PC and release all games across both formats. Oh they tried the XBox live thing before on the PC didn't they?!Still would be nice and MS would extend their game sales and possibly the live subscription base...Streaming games is OK but its bound to be laggy and you will get a compromised gaming experience. Tried to play a few PS4 games remotely on the Vita - the 1080p screen didn't scale at all well onto a 5" screen text was hard to read.Anyway good to have options and all that. One day I might be able to play my digital XBO games on my PC! :)

I think that we'll be seeing more xbone exclusives run natively on PC soon enough. See Ryse and Dead Rising 3. MS studio person was gathering feedback about a possible Killer Instinct port to PC.

Really hope so. The idea of playing something like Forza on the PC is appealing. I think they did a DirectX 12 demo on a PC using a ported over Forza 5.

Would be a great move by MS TBH. I'd buy the odd Xbox exclusive for sure and would like to use my XBL gold sub on the PC.

Did I miss the boat here? (Couldn't see any chatter), but I've been playing Max: Curse of the Brotherhood and it's one of the cleverest, most engaging games I've played in years.

A sort of Limbo game, but with emphasis on physics puzzles - and it does have some problems (a bit mean spirited at times, and a bit saccharine) - but the core mechanics are astoundingly. I've not had to think like this in a game before.

Well worth the 8 uk dollars I paid for it. Anyone else played it? (or am I a year too late?)

Despite not owning an X1, I have now bought Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Zoo Tycoon, Volgarr the Viking and D4.

I picked up a year of Live at the end of the year (I wanted D4, Volgarr and The Witcher), so I'll be getting plenty more games this year. I was really impressed by the Windows 10 conference too, so I'm going to have to buy one of these, aren't I?

yeah, um...

I'll just post this from when I used to sell pc games to the public:

"Can I buy X game?"

"Sure, is your pc powerful enough to play it? Once you have installed it you cannot return it due to compatibility issues"

"Yeah it's fine. It has windows."

Next day.

"I want a refund this game doesn't work".

Contrast selling an Xbox game:

"Can I buy x game?"

"Sure, Xbox version yeah?"

"Yep. Cheers. Seeya"

Does Titanfall Deluxe give me everything? Not just the maps but the co-op mode thing that was released?

The game modes are available to all players, not just people with the DLC. The deluxe versions gives you all the map packs, so yeah you should have everything AFAIK.

That is a great price for Titanfall Deluxe. Do lots of people still play, any trouble finding a game?

If you want to play Attrition, you'll have no problems getting a game. It's pure potluck for anything else unfortunately, and that's a goddamn gaming crime.
