What does everyone think of this months gold freebie D4? Its different.... :) Liking the art style. Game is like a old style point n click adventure game. Don't have Kinect so may not be as fun with a controller!

The main game is actually far more practical with a pad, but the QTE style action sequences are really funny using a kinect.

Looking back, (N64 especially) the only last decent games were Goldeneye and Blastcorps (Goldeneye has aged badly and BC could do with a 2015 update on the idea as it was prety unique when it came out).

I know people like Banjostring and Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 but I hated them as it compared poorly to Mario 64 imo.

Same goes for all the DKC games on the SNES.

DKC 1 was good, still play it occasinally.

It is no SMW, but it's a damn fine game in it's own right, the 2nd and 3rd an fuck right off though.

I was actually surprised they didn't try to do a Blast Corps on XBLA last generation. Do Nintendo own the license or something?

So was I - they were heavily utilised for the background tech on 360 (and avatars) which is why their output was so slight. I'd kill for a new Blastcorps - they don't need to use the name after all if Nintendo do own the rights (and if they do I'd be amazed if they ever do anything with it).

The fact they did that Jetpac update was such a tease - I was crossing everything for a Lunar Jetman/Knight Lore/Alien8/Underwurlde/Cyberrun/fucking anything update that never came :(

How do MS handle warranty repairs these days? My 2 month old white one has developed what I think is that coil while problem. It starts buzzing after about an hours use and gets so loud you can hear it above the tv.

Just wondered if they send out an at the door replacement like Sony do (did?) I'm going to phone the Game store where I bought it frkm this morning but they not have white ones in stock. Plus they seem to insist on you taking every single thing back that was in the box. Which is nuts. Cheers

Think you will have to send it away now bud :(

Get on to technical support if you have no luck at GAME, see if you can badger them into getting a door swap done, it was possible a while back, but sure someone upthread said it was no longer an option.

Well I spoke to both Game and MS this morning. Game are a no go, as they wanted me to take the console in - plus the power supply etc, and then let them set it up and leave it on for a couple of hours to prove it had a fault. When I asked him why I might be taking back a console with NO fault just to swap it for the same thing (when this is only two months old) he didn't have an answer other than "it's policy".

MS were more helpful and they may have saved me sending it back. I normally plug my consoles straight into the wall, but had to use a surge protector in the bedroom where this is situated as it was easier. They recommended plugging straight into the wall, and it does seem to have helped a lot. Not counting my chickens yet, but was a definite improvement :)

Quick question: on my installed games tiles, some games have icons on them and others don't. For example, some have small white controller icons with a plus in the top left corner, others have a white corner triangle with an asterisk in, but I can't see any reasoning behind it.

The asterisk means that an update has been applied since you last played it. I think the controller with a plus sign means there is paid DLC available.

The tiles at the bottom of the home screen are in "last used" order.

Yeah, I know that. I just thought I'd heard the icon was on the tile in games as well. Maybe I'm imagining it.

Not necessarily an xbox question, but if I put my xbox hdmi lead into a splitter, does it massively affect image quality, or am I alright?

Should be fine, I've been using a splitter since launch and I haven't noticed any difference compared to my brother's Xbone. He doesn't use a splitter.
