So I just had a great experience with MS customer service.

We bought COD: AW Season Pass on one account with the intention of playing it on other accounts too since for the most part games and DLC are shareable. However, I notice that the AE4 guns are still locked on non season pass accounts. I talk to Activision support who say they're still finalising how sharing will work with non season pass accounts. Maps will deffo be shared, early access to guns won't, new weapons that come with the DLC will probably be shared (I think the support guy didn't know, I assume they would be shared). Anyway, I thought I'd wait until closer to the DLC release date before purchasing as hopefully Activision might have some more info on the sharing policy by then.

Logged on with MS Support, explained why I wanted a refund (Activision not clear yet on how sharing will work) and I got refunded straight away. No quibble. THAT is how you do customer service!

Good to know. Never had to use support before. And good for you posting this up so many times we just hear the negative side of customer services!

Also at least this pad has the good sense to turn itself off due to inactivity. Explains why people say it has a longer battery life.

It helps that a large beam of light isn't sucking away your soul (battery life) in comparison, yes. PS4 pad turns itself off too, otherwise.

Question regarding EA Access: is it like PS+ where the games in the vault, for example battlefield 4, are only in there for a limited time, or are they available as long as you have access?

My understanding is they're yours as long as you have a sub. I guess being EA it's possible (they might swap out a 14 sports title for the 15 equivalent) but you'd have to check the small print. As it stands it's less than £3 a game - nutty value.

The ones on PS+ are available as long as you have access as well.

But so far they've not removed anything for new customers no.

I meant more the fact the game is only free on plus for a month, so wondered if you had to 'buy'/download the ea access ones as you do on PS+ so that they're added to your account.

So what XBO game are people most looking forward to this year?

Crackdown for me really hope it gets a release this year!

Hopefully we'll see another Forza title too toward the end of the year too.

There should be some really good games this year..

#idarb
Ori and the Blind Forest
Quantum Break
State of Decay HD
Inside
Raiden 5
Cuphead
Below
Rivals of Aether
Halo 5 Guardians
Knight Squad
Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
There Came an Echo
Hope they show some gameplay of Scalebound and Phantom Dust at E3 this time too.

No, they'll be in "The Vault" for ever and you don't have to "claim" them in a certain month to "own" them. Games get added every couple of months and so far nothing has been removed. EA said they don't intend to remove anything but aren't promising anything. I guess they mean that one day they might remove the earliest version of FIFA since the Vault has a later version on it.

Good line up!

Still got plenty to play at the moment too... Forza Horizon 2 continues to keep me hooked in ( more so with Storm Island) which means I've hardly touched Forza 5, Sunset Overdrive or Halo Master Chief Collection.... :)

Plus licencing may well force that. Nascar and WRC games disappeared from Steam on New Years eve for instance for that reason.

Is it likely there will be big exclusive announcements for the rest of 2015 that we haven't heard about yet? Or is that basically the slate, plus some more indies and multi-formats?

Well yes it's not a complete list - he forgot Tomb Raider as an example.

Just to say cheers to Yoshimax for the HDD recommendation - arrived today. Works flawlessly, tons of space now i've copied everything across, and it's silent. It's gone up now by a tenner on Amazon, but I hearitly recommend if you're struggling for space as I was.

Phil Spencer said a while back that there are so many games expected to be ready for Autumn 2015 release that some might have to be held back.

No idea how much of that is hyperbole but I'm under the impression that historically Microsoft have announced things much later than Sony have.

It'd be nice if they'd give some things some firmer dates in advance though, there are a number of games that have appeared on the market with no advance warning or fanfare that would have surely benefited from potential purchasers knowing of their imminent arrival.

Sony had to do it because their PS3 network had no added value whatsoever and Microsoft had to follow suit to maintain parity with the next generation. To be honest I just wish Sony had dropped the free games when switching to a paid for subscription being required to play games but realise I am in the minority as can be seen on this very forum.

Sony who were long heralded as the saviour of indie gaming have done a damn good job of devaluing the product.

You wish... they had stopped giving free games? But continued charging? I guess that would make you the minority on any forum!

Anyway, I have never read of an indie game developer complain about PS+ devaluing their product. So I don't see the need to get all upset on their behalf.

MS are quite good at hitting release dates for things from my experience. They also don't seem to overhype everything too. Forza Horizon 2 just sort of came like a bolt of the blue last year. I'd rather they take their time and get proper release dates in place as it only leads to disappointment if dates aren't hit. So I'm good with them waiting.

Really looking forward to what gets released this year.... got plenty enough to keep me busy at the moment though.

Downloaded D4 last night and enjoying it even though I'm kinectless! Like the art style a lot. Reminds me of an old game think it was Déjà vu.

I expect Kinect makes things a bit easier although quite happy not waving my arms around :D

I think you're missing the point, that games being given away free makes for the view that games aren't worth spending money on. It's possible that for every indie developer who isn't complaining about their game being given away for free there are lots of other games not being bought because the people who might have bought a game are instead hedging their bets on it being given away for free in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if the effect of free games is a greater number of games with in app purchases, which even if you're in favour of free games, has got to be a bad thing.

You don't think both Xbox Live and PSN would represent horrible value without the free games? I find it shocking that Microsoft were charging so much for so little for so long.
