December SDK included big performance gains when accessing the ESRAM..

Techland’s upcoming zombie survival open world game, Dying Light is already confirmed to be running at 1080p and locked 30 frames per second on both the PS4 and Xbox One. So was Dying Light using the latest Xbox One SDK update to achieve this performance boost on Microsoft’s console?
“We were using the latest version just prior to the new release that came out on December 12th. In terms of advantages, the main thing is just how much the ESRAM control has improved,” Lead Game Designer Maciej Binkowski said to GamingBolt.
“The new API allows you to do a lot more with the ESRAM, things devs have always wanted to do but were not easily accessible. This together with better tools (PIX) allowed us to really improve performance and tweak ESRAM usage,” he added.
For those who are unaware, PIX i.e. Performance Investigator for Xbox is a software tool for game developers that helps them analyze and debug their code to improve performance of Direct3D applications. It’s intriguing to see that Microsoft have been making further updates to their SDK which has already helped several AAA games like Destiny and Grand Theft Auto 5 to achieve full 1080p resolution.

Yes, but it's a bold decision to go back to the price they weren't selling at.

It's january, so no consoles are getting sold anyway, and they've no big releases for a while. They may as well go back up then have a "proper" price cut in March or something.

Fuck that, lets get him fired.

These Titanfall numbers are worrying...wish they'd hurry up with the xmas deal on it.

Wouldn't worry about TitanFall, it had thousands of players just before Christmas. If they're lower at the moment I can only assume it's because its nine months old and everyone's rinsing their Christmas games, myself included.

I've been having a Titanfall and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare Xmas. Even if they don't have the numbers of COD in its heyday, they're still holding steady. Long may it continue.

Then I went back to Advanced Warfare for the first time since November. It can have as many users online as it wants, it's already a joyless nightmare.

My point is Smartglass could easily do both those things. No need for a £60 peripheral.

I realised that you were lamenting that those features weren't functions of smartglass but since you'd already said you were considering a Kinect I thought it might be nice for you to know those features you are things Kinect offers.
