Football Thread 2012/13

Recommended Posts

It seems the hand shake shenanigans of last season might be back as reports that Anton Ferdinand will not shake hands with Terry or Cole when the teams meet this weekend.

Has Terry has his FA hearing yet - did they do it when everyone was watching the Olympics or are they waiting until after Brazil 2014??

I think the FA wanted to wait until after John Terry took part in the Olympics bus parade the other day.

They now just need to check if Andy Murray has got anything planned that of course Terry would need to attend, otherwise the hearing has been pencilled in for next Friday.

So, maybe as expected, Anton Ferdinand doesn't shake hands with Terry or Cole but it appears Terry has mouthed something to Ferdinand as he passed him.

The shenanigans continue............

JUSTICE.

Looks like the UTD pre season diving training has been in full effect. Fergs knows how to train em.

To be fair, he probably picked it up from the England captain.

BBC Football Live Update..

YELLOW CARD - Liverpool - Luis Suarez

The two sides of Luis Suarez: great skill to weave around two challenges and into the box followed by a theatrical tumble in the box under no contact from a challenge from John O'Shea. It earns the Liverpool striker a booking. And a deserved one at that.

I look forward to the animated gif...

Awesome comedy dive from Suarez just there.

The ESPN replays showed it wasn't a dive, and could have easily been a penalty.

Suarez is still an infuriating shit though.

It's funny how hypocritical people get when it comes to football. United scum! JUSTICE!! Only you know, definitely ignore it when your own team does it.

Newsflash lads: EVERY TEAM DIVES

Shocking defending from Real Madrid, as Sevilla take the lead from a corner within a minute of the game starting. All the Madrid defenders leave a nice wide space in front of the penalty spot, for a Sevilla player to basically smack the ball first time high into the centre of the goal. Easy.

Earlier game ended, Getafe 1 - 4 Barcelona

Who do you think I support?

United right? I've seen you post in there plenty if I remember right. And it is embarrassing. But these are the realities of professional football, there's no sense in pretending that it's any different and this is the way it's going to stay unless something drastic happens. Hell, the sad thing is that the most embarrassing thing about the dive is that he didn't even try to make contact with the keeper. And in a professional sport, that's a shame

Diving isn't what you want to see from your players but the Wigan defender who played Chicharito yards onside for his goal appealing to the linesman for offside is just as blatant a cheat, even if it was in vain. And considering the penalty was missed and his team lost 4-0, it's poor form of Roberto Martinez to focus his post match comments on the ref's performance.

Again the 'little clubs' moan about never being given a chance on a day when Stoke stole a point off City with a deliberate handball goal.
