Some of a 1977 interview with Alec Guinness where he doesn't seem to dislike the movie or his experience on it as much as people say. He also thinks people will read too much into it all. If only he knew how right he was there.

I've watched some interviews with Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher on BBC from back in the day that were really good. One of them they were just talking, Mark sounds kinda posh/british and another one they all have some soup or something?!? Those are wacky and fun.

I love how people just consistently call out the hammy dialogue and lil-awkward-georgie

They have a habit of scheduling these films for May then delaying them until December. It definitely happened to Rogue One and I think it happened to TFA too. Currently Han Solo is scheduled for May 2018 and Ep IX for May 2019, but I'd expect them both to drop back to Christmas.

They have a good reason for avoiding Christmas 2019 though: Frozen 2 is out that November.

In fact, the amount of money Disney are all but guaranteed to make in 2019 is insane:

Plus, as I replied to that tweet, Captain Marvel and (partially) the Spider-Man Homecoming sequel. And those could easily be the two that make the least money from that list!

Episode IX has been given a release date of 24th May, 2019.

It's ok. As long as it happens before the end of the year, my son will be the same age when he sees IX in the cinema as I was when I saw RotJ. Which is some remarkably dorky cosmic coincidence. Or the Force.

Edit- that's a fantastic interview with Guinness up thread, even if I'm one of those fans who grew up to obsess over the banal dialogue :)

Hope you've all watched this over Christmas!

The Galaxy Britain Built celebrates the British contribution to the original Star Wars.

Presenter and Star Wars fan David Whiteley uncovers some never-before-heard stories from the geniuses who helped build thegalaxy, from the costume designer and art director to the man who made the lightsabre. It was a time when science fiction films were not box office draws, and very few people in the industry believed in George Lucas's vision. But his first Star Wars film ended up being a very British endeavour.

Aren't they already at around $4 billion just from box-office takings alone? TFA did over $2 billion, Rogue One topped $1 billion and TLJ has apparently already taken almost $900 million. Either way though, you're right. Plus you can expect TLJ to get to at least $1.5-2 billion before it's done, Solo will probably match what Rogue One achieved and Episode IX should be good for another $2 billion. Add another billion for the third spin-off due in 2020 and you've got a total profit of something like $5 billion, with the promise of Rian Johnson's trilogy and who knows what else to come. Nice bit o' business!

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't factor in the cost of actually making the films, so they're probably still a bit short of having made a profit as things stand.
