Gender Diversity / Politics in games (was Tropes Vs. Women)

I guess I could put all the people who reply to those people who I've ignored on ignore, and keep doing it until there's nobody left.

SKINNER
Well, I was wrong. The lizards are a godsend.

LISA
But isn't that a bit short-sighted? What happens when we're overrun by lizards?

SKINNER
No problem. We simply unleash wave after wave of Chinese needle snakes. They'll wipe out the lizards.

LISA
But aren't the snakes even worse?

SKINNER
Yes, but we're prepared for that. We've lined up a fabulous type of gorilla that thrives on snake meat.

LISA
But then we're stuck with gorillas!

SKINNER
No, that's the beautiful part. When wintertime rolls around, the gorillas simply freeze to death.

@rockstarjez , have you watched the Tropes vs Women in Video Games videos?  What're your views on the points that are raised in them?  I'd genuinely be interested in hearing the opinion on them from somebody who is - apparently, at least, so apologies if I've misinterpreted your posts - a men's rights/Gamergate supporter.  Do you think that the general depiction of women in video games is problematic at all?

I don't think rockstarjez has any interest in discussion PK. People have tried in the past. He just trolls and declares any responders to be "triggered", whatever that means in this context.

It's worth a shot!

@PK Yes I have seen them and I still laugh about all the triple checked research she did on Batman's arse.

She's really not delivered on any of her Kickstarter promises, but she has made over a million from playing the professional victim.

 I'm not sure I've seen the Batman's arse episode!  I'll have to have a look.

Aside from Sarkeesian herself, and her Kickstarter promises (I wasn't actually aware of the series until it was already released, so I'm afraid I'm not sure what that's referring to), what do you think about the points raised in the videos about how women are predominantly depicted in video games?  Do you think any of the trends that are highlighted are problematic?

@rockstarjez what do you think about the fact that you haven't been banned from here? While the often-repeated GG philosophy is that sites with anti-gg leaning communities simply shut out, ban or ignore people with pro-gg beliefs?

Do you still believe, despite the effort that people here put into engaging with you and challenging you, that "anti-gg", SJWs, feminists, etc, are not willing to debate?

I think @alistarr's recent posts are essential reading if you're thinking of engaging with Jez, i.e. don't.

I have in the past posted way too much in this thread (and on Twitter) mocking GamerGate just for feeling good and getting likes (alongside my genuine lefty indignation). Lots of you are the same. Let's stop that. We get no cookies for being basic decent human beings.

Yeah, maybe bad timing with that question seeing as he just got banned for 24 hours... :-)

I'd just let him rant into empty space and post up his videos while the rest of us cheerfully ignore him and move on.

Are we going to hear that 'Anita hasn't kept her Kickstarter promises.' Line indefinitely?  As in, even when she puts out the last video, the claim is simply going to be that they're rubbish, & that counts as not fulfilling the promises, rather than them just not being made yet?

Rockstarjez won't be replying for 24 hours, sorry guys

He only posts in this thread, trolling

If he does reply, will he get banned again?

Personally, I think it should depend on what his reply is. If it's just another shitpost about beta cucks being triggered, then I reckon he should be banned again. He always manages to derail the thread with pointless arguments for a few pages when he does that which ruins it.

If he actually responds properly to the questions he's been asked, and engages with the topic, then I don't think he should be banned, even if his reasons are GG/MRA ones.

It's funny how it's always those who contributed nothing to the Kickstarter who throw around the accusations of fraud and non-fulfilment of the Kickstarter.

It's proof that GG is primarily a consumer rights movement!
