Gender Diversity / Politics in games (was Tropes Vs. Women)

Unofficial Who

If they think Feminism and women's growing sense of superiority is what's stopping them getting dates (and yes, that is what they think), shouldn't they be concentrating on getting feminists and any other women along to those meetings and telling them to start thinking differently?

Yes! Unless there's an easier way to do it, say by harnessing the awesome power of neuro-linguistic programming and wearing a hat.

And now Roosh has cancelled all of the meetups.

Good.

Hilariously, the Toronto one was cancelled because the patrons of a nearby womens boxing club said they'd show up..

When they heard that Roosh and his followers were planning to meet up in Toronto, the women of the Toronto Newsgirls boxing club decided they'd attend the meet-up, too.
That way when Roosh did what he threatened to do — take photos of any female protesters who showed up to dissect and criticize online later — he'd actually be snapping photos of "badass bitches in boxing gloves!"
After word of the Newsgirls' plans spread, Roosh decided to cancel the meet-ups, writing that he can "no longer guarantee the safety or privacy of the men who want to attend."

...Imagine feeling unsafe in a public space, or afraid to have your privacy violated. As a woman, I have no idea what that must be like.

Another reason for these meets was he was going to get people to sell his reprehensible books..

(Deeply unpleasant extracts contained within the article..)

And links to a load more articles on various other horrible things he's said and done..

Anyway videogames... This thread isn't the general catchall misogyny thread is it? The only trope currently I see is Alex W popping up with stuff like the above, giving more air to a horrible man living in his mums basement who can only muster 30 people at meeting for sad men. It's newsworthy of course, but not what this thread is about...discussing recurring tropes about women in games.

Why? To satisfy people's OCD?

Because this forum is for discussing games, therefore lots of people probably don't even know this thread exists. And even if they did they'd read the OP that is about games and not read on, even though this MRA stuff is a much broader subject than Anita Sarkeesian's videos about bums.

Or are you all just afraid of probeater being in here, being amazing?

No, I think it will disappear in there like stuff always does, and that people can post things wherever the hell they like.

If you want a thread on MRAs in Off Topic, just start one! It's not hard.

From Davis Aurini's response to the SJW forces that got Roosh's meetup's cancelled:

That ex-boyfriend who stole your heart? One of us. That charming married man at your office, with the beautiful wife? One of us. That wise mentor who helped you more than you’ll than you’ll ever know? One of us. And we saw what you said about us, without even knowing who we were.

He's so delusional it's just - fuck me.
