I want a new FZero so bad... SO BAD.

Wipeout doesn't come close.. it's too cluttered, tracks are too narrow and it doesn't have the amazing boost/energy thing going on.

Having said that, FZero GX had a 16:9 mode didn't it?

They'll troll us by making a 3DS entry; not because it would be BAD, but due to the fact that the very best games in the series have been on home consoles, because they KNOW that the vast majority of interest parties would covet a sparkly HD version most fervently. Such a game would put WII-U right back onto my radar for 2013.

I think F-Zero X would feel perfect on the slide pad. Also, I prefer racing games on handhelds mostly, because I do love a good time attack attempt now and then.

I would love a Wii U version though, especially if it were more of an evolution of the ugly, clashing colour style and handling of X, rather than GX.

What annoys me a bit is that, when asked about F-Zero, Miyamoto says Nintendo haven't made a new one because it would need to offer something different. Yet when asked about NSMB U, he's all "well, we can't change Mario too much, can we?"

yeap - I didn't get that. What most people are looking for is basically an updated FZero X (I found GX too hard) - at least 30 racers, bonkers characters, and fast and smooth racing.

Even for youngsters - FZero is probably a franchise they haven't heard about since the last one came out almost 10 years ago. So, there'll be tons of 15 year old who would have no idea what it was.

grrrrr

Oh, and 1080 and Waverace too (although the cube updates to them weren't as good as the originals).

You know that is basically Nintendo speak for it don't make enough money in its current form, I'm sure he would say the same thing about Wave Race or 1080 or any other Nintendo game for which people pine for a sequel but doesn't get one due to the fact their time is more profitably invested elsewhere.
