I mean the new marios looked IDENTICAL to the wii's versions. Obviously it's mario and it will look the same, but come on. This is meant to be a next gen machine. Assassin's Creed 3? Batman? After that it was all Wii Fit U, Wii Music 2.0, Just Dance 4, Nintendoland and a whole mess of similar gimmicky shit we all know and love from the original Wii. Predictably there are few people who loved it regardless because Nintendo. So we got a new hardware unveiling and that's all? Disappointing doesn't really begin to describe it. I think I just have Everything in the buildup to this suggested a true return to form, I never even doubted that there'd be an amazing new F Zero or Starfox or something, and some new IP, and there was just....nothing. And why have the hardware video the other day, only to go over the same ground just now? Why say it was Wii U only, and then bang on about the 3DS for 10 mins anyway? It all suggested an hour of solid awesome, and they crushed my hopes in spectacular fashion. I never thought I'd say this, but I really don't think I'll buy one at launch. How the hell could they only come up with Pikmin and Nintendo Land and some other stuff so watery I can't even remember it? What are all these internal teams doing? Uninspired HD reskins don't cut it. Inventory on a seperate screen don't cut it. Years old third party games where the characters wear new outfits don't cut it. Nintendo are fucked.
