Microsoft really have no idea who their customers are do they?

I think they have a very good idea about the customers who buy most of their stuff, yeah. I don't think they realise that those kinds of people rarely watch these live events, mind. We're a different audience to the mainstream now, as far as I can tell.

About EA's conference, I really (REALLY!) hope they announce - after the massive success of the new SSX - SSX HD Collection. Furthermore I hope they announce Dante's Inferno 2 (or that other title the DI was is/was working on) and Shox 2.

God that was dire. Tomb Raider looked good, and perhaps Resi although I rarely get on with Resi games, but I tuned in late and thought I was on the wrong stream when I saw them talking about ESPN and crap. Far too much fitness-lifestyle-movie-music-sports rubbish and not enough games.. :(

But that's the thing all these E3 clips will filter through to them. All this stuff will play very well with mainstream news content providers. Didn't MS have the conference being screened live in times square as well?

'We' will buy the games regardless as were already following that's why us taking these shows so seriously is just silly.

MS showed more than enough to get the 2 games a year crowd wet and willing. It's a twisted sort of nonsense that has people expecting some megaton ater megaton show this late in the generation with new machines due to be revealed I'd say by the end of the year, that was never going to be a reality.

My only annoyance is they have tons of XBLA titles that didn't get an airing.

not even a hint of next gen. It looks like the Wii U will have the market for itself for a couple of years

Interesting point, seeing as (as far as I know) the U will only be bringing Nintendo pretty much level, technology wise, with the PS3 and 360... I wonder what Nintendo's move will be when/if Microsoft and Sony both release new higher-powered consoles in the next 18-24 months, will Nintendo be dropped from the console race, so to speak?

I liked how the conference seemed to imply that we all must own a tablet device and an Android by now.

Positives were the South Park guys taking the piss, which got the best reaction of the show. Plus for me anyway, the NBA Game Pass being on Xbox 360 but I bet thats a US exclusive.

Negatives were the fact this has to be the worst year for showing new games. I know its got more and more stale lately but fucking hell Microsoft.

Anything actually new?

What? Have you played all those games on show?

To be honest, I don't really keep up with gaming any more, so it was all new to me, and everything they showed looked pretty good.

I think they showed a lot of good stuff, even if a fair chunk of it isn't relevant to me personally. SmartGlass is potentially a big deal, although it really depends on whether developers make use of it.

The show's main issue was that it had zero personality. It was used-car-salesman-slick, but the type of people that make time to watch a conference on the internet are only going to buck at that.

I'm interested in almost all the games they showed, but most of them are multi-platform and they chose to demo very similar roller-coaster moments: I know there's more to those games, but all we saw was the same trailer-bait material making everything blur together.

Also, timed exclusive DLC is just annoying. At least with proper exclusives something that otherwise wouldn't have existed is getting made; these "exclusively first" deals have no benefit for the user.

Usher just blew me away... with the shiteness. He's USHERing in a new era lolol, you crazy Don

That and Matt and Trey making the smartphone-tablet-microwave-everything's connected joke. The rest, I've forgotten already.
