DLC will be Autumn, won’t it? Although I guess there isn’t as much lead-in required in terms of marketing, so could just appear one day sooner.

Has a price been confirmed? All the talk of it being their costliest in terms of production makes me think £19.99.

Platinumed the main game now, was pretty fun going through the different endings. And they are substantially different. Glad my first was my favourite, will remain how I headcannon the end of V’s story.

Edit: removed part of my post because it contained vague spoilers.

They’ve got twenty days to shadow drop it!

Oh man, that would be sweet. The better half is away at the start of April and have two days off. Would happily not leave the house and rinse Phantom Liberty.

I will have to savor it an hour at a time every 3 days if it does. Doubtful tho

I was still wondering why I didn't have loads of the display slots filled in the apartment stash, looked it up. You get some iconics as crafting specs only. Which I guess is why the apartment stash rooms have workbenches everywhere. 😐

I had no idea you could fill the gun slots in your apartments <_<

Anyway, finally got around to finishing this off. Took over a week of evenings to polish off all the labelled side quests, plus I looked up to see if I'd missed any (just the alleyway gun, it turned out). I ended up doing about two thirds of the gigs as well. Although I really wish I had gone off on proper side quests much earlier in the game, rather than faffing around with gigs and scanner missions. It was like playing a whole new game or two with the amount of content, a bunch of major characters you can completely miss, plus more Silverhand story.

Then I went through the endings. Took everyone's fave first, not that I knew that but it seemed the least aggregious choice available. Was happy with that outcome in the end, even if in reality the Alecapedos weren't really my bag. Then went back to play all the other endings. Each are excellent and significantly epic with their own missions, cool story moments and each with a different tone to the finale. It was a really strong finish to the game to go through them all and it all felt AAA again.

Of course the main issue with the endings is that unless you mainline the main story, you've forgotten a bunch of the details by this point about the whole main plot of the game... oopsy! One big gripe I have with the quest system to match, is that there's no plot summary at all for any of the completed quests. It makes going through any quest chains (including the main story) completely disjointed unless you stick with one. Unless you have an amazing memory or don't take breaks from the game. Its made worse by the game forcefully stopping you from doing quests in a chain back to back by putting in days or weeks of ingame time between them whilst you wait for characters to call and initiate the next part. Whilst this is cool because it encourages you to hop around activities, and is more realistic, it really hurts the continuity of the stories. In the end I had to stick firmly to just a few side quests at a time and play the rest of the game in this big chunk so I didn't lose track of what was going on.

Anyway, the Side Jobs are definitely worth your time and I would encourage people to just plough ahead with them if the game is dragging for you doing Gigs, there's plenty of time inbetween to go exploring and such. They also take you all across the map so you can save time exploring, you end up going to most of the locations and you can always go off wandering after each quest part in the new location its taken you to.

For me it was really Night City and its inhabitants that was the big win for this, outside of some select high quality quests. Even though finishing off the game was a bit of a drag at times, with the 100+ hours I have really gained an apprectation for this amazing setting. I've watched loads of in-game TV, read all the shards I find, listened to the NPC conversations, walked or driven instead of fast travelling. The city is mindblowing in its art direction, detail and ambience and it's a character in itself. I loved that the endings all acknowledge this by having long scenes where you can just take in the vistas. The game might not always be top tier but Night City and its characters are sticking with me, and when the game hits its highs there's really nothing like it. There are some really memorable storylines and characters in here and the worldbuilding is insane. Definitely my favourite open world setting in gaming, roll on the DLC!

This is very true. I ended up spending too much time doing gigs and burning out on the game. My character was just an unstoppable killing machine which made the actual gameplay pretty boring. I then reached the point of no return in the main quest and thought "fuck it, I'll finish it now". I ended up with the worst ending. Only after watching Tim Rogers' review I realised how much amazing content I'd missed this way . I did actually like the ending though, it was bleak but with a tiny glimmer of light. Very Cyberpunk.

I'll go back and do those sidequests some day, but I'll make a new character for it that I will try to not make too powerful. Maybe by spreading out over all the skill trees as a jack of all trades.

Yeah the 'bad' ending is actually really high quality and has a cool take on the story, I loved it!

Just finished the game; cleared all of the gigs, side quests, police markers, cars and apartments. Then achieved what I consider a happy ending (reminded me of Flashback). I'll finish the other endings before the DLC comes out.

How did this not sweep all of the "Game of the Year" awards? It's an absolute masterpiece. One of the best games I've played (and I've played a lot of games).

I was super skeptical at first - didn't think the game was that pretty and I hate the GTA games (mainly due to the broken combat in that series). However it was so much more - a truly well written sci-fi. Right out of my fav genre.

I'll be in on the DLC on day one. Hopefully it gives you the ability to re-stat as I think that it'd be fun to play around with lots of weird and wonderful builds in the post-game.

Yeah I’ve paused to jump onto Resi 4 as I don’t want to rush through this game to play a new one. It’s such an achievement of a game, the characters and writing are great and the city is of course, just magnificent.

I think it probably launched two years too early. They should never have released the PS4 and Xbox One versions, although I guess the contractual obligations to make these were hard stamped so no choice there. I think had it come about like it is now then I reckon it would have been in with a strong shout - I've been completely changed from my very negative original views of the thing for sure. I think it's a marvellous game in many ways - I still think there are plenty of areas I'm no so keen on from a story point of view, but they kind of vanish into the ether when you get lost in the world itself.

Absolutely day one for the DLC and can't wait to test out the old 4090 with all that path tracing stuff - despite not really understanding much about it :P

I was there on Day One when this was first released. I wanted so much to love it but it was unplayable. After all the problems that surrounded its release I bowed out with about 15 hours played, got my refund and tried to forget it existed. Heartbroken!

Like an old lover that sneaks into your thoughts from time to time I never forgot what Cyberpunk was meant to be. I'm not sure what triggered it but after finishing Wo Long I downloaded the trial to see if maybe, just maybe it was now the game it was always meant to be and fuck me it most certainly is. Quite magically my original save was still there ready to go so I dived straight in confused and smiling at everything available to me. It's testament to the strong core the game always had that it didn't take me long to figure it all out again.

The moment where I stopped playing to come in here was after a car chase, where I stole a rather lovely looking set of wheels in front of the police and then tore round the City until they were lost. I remember the vehicle handling being awful when I first played it but now every single turn, slide and acceleration feels perfect. The combat as well, running in performance mode is glorious. Granted the AI is not the smartest but the weapon and combat options alongside how smooth it runs means its always great fun. Its already been said above but had this game not been pushed out in the awful state it was originally and instead was given the time it clearly needed then it would be in amongst all the GOTY contenders. Its just a real shame that so much damage was done on initial release, making what is now an absolutely incredible game something that so many gamers are going to ignore.

I'm now on the hunt for where I can find a cheap copy so when the generous PS+ 5 hour trial runs out I don't need to stop :) Cyberpunk 2077 is actually great, who knew?!

I've been tempted quite a few times to purchase because it is usually on sale for £20 on the PSN store.

Luckily for me I never buy games on release so I can't wait to enjoy it now that it's been patched to the moon and back.

Hopefully it will scratch my deus ex itch that I have had for ages.

£14.95 at The Game Collection if it helps. 🙂

If you have the blueprints for legendary weapons - Buy the parts for pennies, then craft and sell the weapons to the same vendor. Some have a bigger bank than others, which refreshes after you advance time by 24hrs. I recall the one in the posh apartment block around the city center being a good spot for this. In about an hour or so you can have enough Eddies for buying everything you'd ever want.

I wouldn't bother farming stuff - the game chucks money at you if you complete side missions and NCPD scanner jobs. Just take a break from the main story and do side stuff, and you'll be rolling in cash (and have a much more enjoyable time than just crafting / selling / advancing time).

My god I just want to spend every minute playing this game. Simply being part of and interacting with Night City is a joy. It’s take a long time and they will never get the credit they now deserve but this is a spectacular achievement in videogames.

Thanks for the shout on side missions guys. Money is rolling in now and half way through the street races with my new big time crush Claire too. Is there anyway to know if your weapons are at the required level to be really effective in missions apart from the very generic threat indicator on the mission journal? At times my pistols seem to be devastating and then other times it feels like firing little bits of potato. I’m a pistol guy. Ever since Hand Cannons became a thing in Destiny they’ve been my go to in any game where they are available :)

Take care not to do too many side missions though, it's very easy to become OP, removing any challenge from the game.

Does this ever get soooooper cheap on PC anymore? I've been waiting for the Steam version to dip below £20 for a while, but all the £15 versions are either PS or XB.

Pick it up on GOG. Usually find it from places like CDKeys for under 20.

Is there anyway to assign a weapon to a sidearm type role rather than having to cycle through all your equipped weapons when you use quick switch. Find myself leaving weapon slots blank rather than take options into combat with me to avoid unnecessary cycling or using the weapon wheel. The sword I was using is redundant since now I loaded myself up with Mantis Blades 😍 but having to switch through them if I want to change between 2 guns feels like a very simple thing that should have an easy way to resolve, no?

To be honest I never found a satisfying way to deal with that. I ended up just using the wheel mostly (or slowly cycling through all the weapons while being shot 😅).

It seems an odd choice to have something as blatantly melee focussed as the Mantis Blades locked into the weapon cycle rather than simply adapting the melee action if you have them implanted. Small detail but it’s incredibly annoying that you can’t alternate between ranged and non-basic melee attacks without changing ‘weapon’.

I suppose they would say it’s to encourage specialisation in a particular style of play so you can’t just barrel into combat using all the weapon types easily at the same time but my response to that would be away and fuck yourself. Taking steps backward in weapon management mechanics is NOT an acceptable approach to encourage specialisation.

Other than that GOTY material :) thought I had done all I needed to spare a certain character at the end of a side mission earlier only for my companion to turn round and basically go “I hear what your saying V, I do and it all makes sense, really it does… but I just don’t care” BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!! Ah fuck! I’m going to need to actually pay for that car now ya bastard!

You have made a critical mistake. Katanas are Wired, mantis blades are Retired.

Also melee is for gorilla arms.
