Cyberpunk 2077 - PS5 and XSeries versions out now + major patch

Genuine question to those that are enjoying this. One thing that always jumps out in videos I’ve seen is the lack of people.

I always thought part of the concept was civilisation on the brink with people living in top of one another. Does the complete lack of this not detract from your immersion?

I'm assuming the PC will eventually have a mod but on the PS5 demo I played it felt like a city at the height of the Covid lockdown 😁

It’s certainly more populated in the PC version, but if you’re playing in performance mode on PS5 it does crop the numbers in order to keep the frame rate up. There are way more pedestrians in the 30fps mode.

But yeah I’d love a game that’s absolutely bustling with people. AC Unity did it quite well which was quite a technical feat for the time.

There are some parts absolutely crammed with pedestrians tbf. I was following a minor questline

Quote

Buddhist brain dance quest (accidentally mind, which worked so well with the in game context)

And ended up in a beautiful new urban park area absolutely crammed with people. This game is an all timer for me, up there with Skyrim and New Vegas.

My current run is Nomad slightly techy,  Cool, Anihilation build.

I'm playing on Hard, being a friendly neighbourhood edgerunner like @Floshenbarnical talked about before.

I've done all assaults and Organised Crime and I've nearly finished  Regina's jobs.

It's really cool and fun getting to grips with difficult and dangerous encounters. I went from shitting my pants at three Tyger Claws to easily mowing down far more with my growing skills, gear, shotgun and big Defender.

Haven't even done the heist yet.

I really love this game.

Just sharing...

It's a slow day.

that video made me laugh for ages

btw for anyone who says crafting is useless, I made €$3,000,000 yesterday. Granted, it took me 3 hours and was mind-numbingly boring. What you do is buy get the edgerunner artisan perk, then get the Ashura blueprint, then buy gold, purple, and blue ITEM components from the junk dealer near the solar panels east of biotechnica flats. Then you wait 24hr and do it again. Repeat until all your money is spent. Then you craft Ashura until you’re out of components. Then you sell them to a drop point until it runs out of money, wait 24 hours, do it again. Repeat entire process until your brain drips out of your ears.

ive been grinding xp by farming the wraith camp all day today. Run in, waste everyone, fast travel somewhere, wait 24hours, repeat. Gets boring but you get very, very good. I’m already level 50 but if you keep grinding skills you get extra perk points :) also a good way to make money and find clothes.

Just finished Act 1. That was the most extraordinarily immersive intro sequence I think I've ever played. Blown away, can't stop thinking about it.

I'm rubbish at shooting and I choke trying to do quick hacks in the middle of combat but it's definitely come in handy and I got intelligence to 12 like someone suggested. Just got a silencer so the next time I'm trying to get out of a hotel I hope it goes a little better.

I just finished another playthrough, ENDING SPOILERS!!

Spoiler

Wasn't sure if I'd said the right things earlier on, but seeing as I'd got Johnny's friendship (or whatever it is) to 70% I figured I'd try for the secret ending, and it was available. Now, even though I'm playing on easy, they definitely have made this easier because at launch this mission was nigh on impossible even on easy and at lvl 50. Today I was lvl 47 and it was pretty much a cakewalk apart from one or two parts where I had to get behind cover and recover some health. Smasher was a piece of piss!

I think this is my favourite ending overall because it's just you and Johnny waltzing through Arasaka's front door. Also, Rogue doesn't die doing it this way, and greets you at the bar in Afterlife - provided you survive (the credits roll if you die).

I absolutely adore this game. Night City itself is like Skyrim - another digital "home". Cyberpunk 2077 is up there with Skyrim and the Mass Effect series as games I will cherish and play for the rest of my life.

Get Intelligence up to 18, and technical up to 12 - I finished the game with them both at 20.  That said, if quickhacks aren't for you*, then you could go all in on reflexes and install a Sandevistan; watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix for more on that. :)

*I can't see me ever not enjoying quickhacks.

Ah, I remember now, was you that suggested 12 in something! No I'm definitely enjoying this approach, I just need to practice. It doesn't seem to be everyone's cup of tea but I think I'm going to try crafting, too.

Yeah I started watching Edgerunners as the terminology was baffling at first. That definitely helped.

I’m praying that CD Projeckt RED add in a 1440p 60fps Ray Tracing AMD FSR 2.1 all bells and whistles mode in the console versions when the DLC drops.

Is that too much to ask? ;)

Considering my 2080ti sometimes struggles to maintain 60fps at 1440p with full beans RTX and whatnot, I'd say it probably is.

Anyone who sided with Netwatch in Pacifica got fooled. I don't know who that guy is, but it's not Bryce Mosley. The real Bryce Mosley's corpse can be found nearby, Netwatch badge in hand.

What! Where?

Fuuuuuck, that's really cool. That mission was probably the highlight of the game for me - it feels like there are loads of alternate routes and options, and the story and setting are absolutely top-notch.

Okay, I’d settle for current console ray tracing @ 1440p 60fps then.

I just want some ray tracing without 30fps blur-o-vision

🤣🤣🤣

not happening bro!

The only way to get RT at 60, is with hardware that is above whats in the consoles, and with DLSS, on nvidia, only.

The simple fact is, the AMD GPU in the consoles, is just not good enough at RT.

The attention to detail is amazing. But it's a "dead game" with "nothing to do".
