Just played the through the first mission with Jackie on Xbox series X- he still walks through a load of solid objects at the end. They didn’t even bother to fix that in the first mission after all this time.

I’ve just done that bit and he didn’t do that

No problems here with clipping through either, but there was se funny hand animation jank with Jackie.

Also seen people say it's crashing for them, but I almost feel like those owners on Kitchen Nightmares thinking their Restaurant is failing due to trolls, and wonder how legit the crash comments are.

Super interested to hear DFs take on this in the coming weeks.

No clipping here either, the elevator doors even opened for Jackie and everything. On Xbox Series X. @Retroguy, are you sure you updated?

Absolutely, I’m playing the in 4k at 60 fps so…

I imagine bugs like that will still happen. Skyrim 16th edition and Mass Effect Legendary edition still have weird pathfinding collision issues and a bunch of others.

My biggest gripe, two actually, is the UI still sucks in menus and I wish it could be Green, Light Blue and Yellow. Christ we could change the colour in every JRPG ever in the 90s!

Dear oh dear - I have been playing for just over an hour on the series x with the update patch and so far, i have had a ‘T’ pose on the melee training, a weapon disappear and Jackie not getting into car going to the meet the first ripper doc (but his audio still playing whilst driving).

why is it so hard to get rid of the bugs?  Looks nice though in performance mode.

As I said in my earlier post, it crashed for me and it’s the first hard crash I’ve had with the game and I’ve already put around 100 hours into the last gen version. Seems like they’ve still got a lot of bugs to fix.

Oh wow, had no idea this patch was dropping now. What terrible timing what with Dying Light 2 on the go and Horizon and Elden Ring incoming. I don't think I even have the disc space for Cyberpunk right now but I might have to make some, I really want to see how it looks on PS5.

Haven't read the patch notes yet but I know they've redone the perk tree, that's good news!

Also if anyone has any thoughts on Performance/Graphics modes on PS5 do let us know. Honestly I'm not that arsed about frames if it looks significantly better.

Ah I missed that. Not good at all!

Great patch! Downloaded 42gb and now all I get when I try to start the game on PC is:

It's not like I can even uninstall the patch in Steam either as it was working fine before. Looking at the crash details, it doesn't exactly clear anything up so it's not like the devs have much to go on:

Error reason: Unhandled exception
Expression: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Message: The thread attempted to write to an inaccessible address at 0x48.
File: <Unknown>(0)

Well, I guess I'll wait and hope for the best that they fix it then

Not according to the actual description - it says shadows and reflections.

It's still not worth the framerate hit - it's puke-inducing at 30fps. Perhaps if you turn off the blur effect it wouldn't be so bad.  However...

I just gave the PS5 trial a couple of hours play and ... fuck me, it's not half bad! If you put the PC and PS5 version side-by-side then, yeah, the PC version will always look better, but there are times when the PS5 version isn't all that far off (usually smaller interior areas with fewer NPCs). There's clearly some aggressive resolution scaling going on at times, there's lower traffic, and fewer pedestrians, but the streets aren't empty, and the lighting (even without RT) is decent enough - though some scenes clearly look better on PC, like when you hand over Sandra Dorset to the Trauma Team guys. But best of all? It's 60fps!! I honestly didn't think they'd pull it off, and I am impressed with what they have achieved here on the consoles.

Here's a test with two relatively similar shots...

One is captured on my PC from a while ago, the other tonight on PS5. Can you tell which is which?  There are some clear giveaways, but overall I'd say it's decent effort. Definitely worth a punt for £20, because the game itself is genuinely fucking good! Enjoy it!

I was torn between replaying as a male corpo like last time, or trying out a female V with the nomad background, and I’m very glad I went with a female character - the opening mission on the nomad life path is fairly substantial and is much, much better than the corpo one which ended before it even got going. I quite like V’s voice as a woman too, she sounds pretty cool.

The game looks fantastic on Series X. I haven’t gotten past the first Night City mission yet, but I haven’t seen any glitches so far - Jackie hasn’t phased through any walls, and his guns remain visible at all times.

I’m undecided as to whether to play on performance or ray tracing mode. I’m not bothered by 30fps, and in fact quite like the chunky, hefty look it gives games - 60fps can sometimes look a bit too smooth and artificial to me. Plus, I feel like I owe it to the teenage K to play it with ray tracing on - when I played Cyberpunk 2020, ray tracing was this cutting edge technique you’d only ever see on those fractal landscape creators, where it’d take a couple of minutes to render a single frame. The idea of playing a game like this with actual real-time RT would have been mind blowing back in 1992, whereas the idea of 60fps would have been meaningless, so I’d be letting that scrawny nerd down if I didn’t turn the ray tracing on. But the game does feel a lot more responsive in the 60fps mode.

Is it better than Stadia now? I’m not sure I’d ever replay it because I don’t usually bother, but I might be tempted on this occasion…

If you’re not bothered by 30fps then do Ray Tracing mode. The performance mode is certainly impressive in it’s own right but looks quite plasticky by comparison.

That's more the 60fps than the lack of RT, which is only shadows and some reflections. The 30fps + heavy motion blur gives the game a very filmic look (incredibly so, actually). But this is a game, not a film. 60fps is much better.

Whatever it is, it looks more plasticky in compassion. I expect the dynamic resolution scaling is more aggressive in performance.

I know you think 60fps is better, you mention it very regularly and everyone else on here knows you think 60fps is better. There are likely undiscovered Amazonian tribes, cut off from the rest of human civilisation in some remote jungle basin, who know you think 60fps is better. We know.

But @Ksaid he wasn’t bothered by 30fps and wanted the game to look (paraphrasing here) ‘the nuts’ so on that basis he may well find the RT mode is worth the trade off.

@tronied  Try going into into Task Manager and closing any Nahimic named processes.(maybe stop the Nahimic service too, run 'services.msc')

Could also try closing other pointless shit like tray/monitoring/overlay/discord  apps if that process is unavailable.

Also goes without saying that you should remove any mods you made to the game.

Played a couple hours and really impressed with both performance and RT modes. The motion blue implementation is really nice in this.

Absolutely love the adaptive triggers for driving. Really minor but makes the driving feel great, even if it is heavy. Adds to the weight of it!

Visuals range from pretty good but sparse (if you go out your way, rooftops, some alleys etc). When it pops, it flipping pops. I think the whole image is usually amazing, and the art direction should be applauded.

Controls like a bag of moist socks, but with some tweaks it feels more to my tastes.

Can't comment on the RPG systems yet, but imagine it will be as it was before. I feel like they set themself a challenge that was a mountain on Mars implementing meaningful, fun upgrades into a first person shooter, but will reserve judgement.

Excited to dive back in tomorrow, just for the world alone. Anything else is a bonus.

Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean to come across so militant regarding 60fps. :)
