Cyberpunk 2077 - PS5 and XSeries versions out now + major patch

Got a bit bored of this at the mo so will take a break from it. Plus the little visual bugs didn't bother me much but I had the waiting for a call bug twice in a row which wore me down a bit.

Also more often than not HDR wouldn't trigger on Quick Resume meaning I had to go back to Home, start another HDR game then go back to activate it.

Got Valhalla on the go but will probs start Ghost Of Tsushima.

Well looks like I’m fucked. The game is not loading past one of the main missions. It’s where you need to get in the car with Panam in the passenger seat in the garage at midnight (Lightning   Breaks mission). I’ve even gone back to older saves and happens every time. Dropped items too after reading this may help but looks like I have become a culprit of the recent corrupt save game file articles I have seen online. This is on Series X too, absolutely gutted as was really enjoying the game.

Had the same thing, it's because you probably have another main quest open for a guy you have to meet.

Once you've done that go back to her and  it should resume as normal.

I'm pretty sure you can craft iconic weapons again (I think you get a crafting schematic when you get the weapon). But as far as I can tell, the cost of upgrading low level iconic weapons to anything resembling functional once you level up a bit just isn't worth it, each upgrade only raises like 20dps or something and it costs tons of materials.

PS the new hotfix patch is supposed to reduce crashing on consoles, honestly I've only been crashing every few hours so its not a big deal but hopefully this will get rid of most of the blue screens

Turn hdr off anyway, it's horrible on this game.

Yeah you can craft them as you go along. I didn’t get this pistol, only the blueprint or whatever to craft so did it. All the guns I pick up at the moment seem to be around 300-350 dps (presumably scaled to my level) but this one is nearly 1,000 and rips through people. Or anything.

Anyone else got the Comrades Hammer pistol? It’s an iconic one.

Nah. I got the Widowmaker early on in a mission with Panam, and it's still one-shooting most of the bad guys. But yeah, only mid-late 300s damage. That pistol sounds well OP.

It's sort of refreshing, after a few years of Godwin's law being invoked in bad faith (e.g. when literal neo-nazis are being called as such), to see an honest-to-god example of it in action!

There has, unsurprisingly, been a pretty vocal mocking/backlash to it, including from large numbers of the critics/commentators otherwise critical of Cyberpunk 2077.

This is flippin' ridiculous.

I'm not going to read the "article". I'm not going to defend CDPR here either, they should never have released the console version, and they deliberately misled the public about it - utterly shameful. But invoking Godwin's law?

Tbf, the article does explain that it means in terms of an 'anti-award' but that headline is ludicrous. Having yo explain away the headline at the start of an article is never a great look.

Exactly, fucking ridiculous clickbait

Yeah, I just took 75% off a cyberpsycho with one shot. I double checked the dps and it’s 1,045.

Woah! Someone mentioned how the game retains the locations of stuff you leave, like cars.

I stopped off a few hours, and at least one crash ago, on the way back to the city to do a couple of local crime missions.

Knocked out a few 6th street gang members who were having a barbecue in their garden.

I just reactivated a side mission that turns out to be a stash hidden next door. The bodies are still there; I've done two story missions and a heist for Panam, and the game still remembered the state I left these chumps in. One guy is still in front of the barbecue where I left him.

On the flip side, if you have good optics get up on a vantage point and zoom in on distant moving traffic. Render looks almost like 2D sprites - I thought it was, originally.

They are, they are called imposters.

The problem is the game uses too many of them, and too close too you.

So they really work even over Christmas after all the recent crunching? Fuck this.

Maybe if so many ppl weren't such massive  cry babies about a few little glitches they could take a break :coffee:

Yes. That's the takeaway from this.

It's still a slightly odd take though. "Over Christmas" for me is from tomorrow until just after the new year. They released the patch yesterday. I assume we'll see nothing more from CDPR in terms of fixes until mid January at the earliest.

Come on, this isn't right either. It's not a "few little glitches" - the console versions are fundamentally broken and should not have been released.
