So glad I dodged a bullet on this game for now. With all the issues, the bugs, the problems with CDPR it’s getting easier by the day to not...

SOLD!

I honestly think the game is a lot better than the public debate would make it seem.

I've only just started playing around with the OS deck and realised I had some hacks that are better than the ones I've been using.

Turns out you can get upgraded versions of the hacks with the same name but they have different gameplay effects.

For example, I use the reboot optics specs often and just realised I have one (not equipped) which blinds nearby enemies too.

What is up with the expressions in the mirror? Is that broken? I don't think my character's face changes when I press the different buttons.

I've tried. I really have, but I put my refund request in this morning :( every single time I have played the game it ends with a hard crash and I just cant persevere with it any longer. I have loved everything about it and really cannot wait to enjoy it when its up to scratch but I'm out for the time being. So disappointing.

Yeah, the only vehicle I'd say you need to buy is the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X motorbike (it's the Akira bike). You can get the car from the trailers (Quadra Turbo R V-Tech) for free fairly early on if you start the right side mission/gig - arguably the best car in the game. And you get a proper supercar (also for free) midway through the game as well.

Got that as soon as I saw it. How do I get the Quadra for free? What's the gig?

Favorite car so far is the Hella I started the game with. It's just so gangster. It's so V. Close second is this wedge-shaped four-door with a brake light bar made of little vertical bars that takes up the whole rear end. Wish I could remember what it's called.

The stupid incidental crime in progress missions are pretty wack and lame, but all the side missions/ gigs I've done are super well fleshed-out and have been largely the highlight of the game for me so far. The main mission stuff is great but I've put a pin in it for the time being. I'm just going around with my headshot-machine 4-shot revolver Buryshka or whatever it's called putting fools to rest or lamping them in the face with my gorilla arms.

I found the Quadra Avenger my favourite, it's basically like the title car, except all silvery metallic and only one lightstrip on the back.

I assume everyone knows you can hold right on the D-pad to choose which car you summon.

Yeah if only you could tap it to change your camera view /s

Playstation 5

wow I am surprised. I was sure these issues were mainly on old consoles. Did you have the 1.05 patch?

Thanks for answering, just curious, not seeking to troll.

PS: I keep forgetting the PS5 is even out! Are you a scalper? Lol

To me it's absolutely staggering how different (technical) experiences appear to be with this game. I've not had a single crash or major bug in my first playthrough (mid-level PC) and frame rate was very solid throughout.

It's the base last-gen consoles that have the problems for the most part. It's better on everything else although still very unfinished feeling.

Initially there were a lot of little niggles but nothing that made it unplayable. Visually it’s stunning and performance wise when it’s running I have no complaints, but I haven’t been able to play longer than an hour without it hard crashing. I also got a settings save file corruption error message this morning, which again is minor but still absolute nonsense to be expected to just accept it alongside everything else.

PS. I pre-ordered my console in September with Game and had no issues with them whatsoever apart from the initial preorder chaos that everyone seemed to get caught up in.

You need to press the appropriate button to skip the credits, it should then put you back to asking if you want to go back to before the end mission, or simply go to the main menu. You need to select the former, and then save the game - it should keep your level if you levelled up during the finale, and depending on the ending you did you may have a bonus weapon/reward.

Sorry, something is wrong. When I select the option to do more gigs I'm being returned to main menu and am only able to load my own save games.

Edit: nooooooo, there seems to be a bug. LOL. First major bug for me then :(

I've given up attempting to even enjoy the game at the moment. I find it utterly frustrating and so consistently flawed in almost everything it does. For every cool story beat there's something equally uncool that takes me out of the whole 'role-playing' aspect.

It's going to really have to be utterly transformed for me to even bother with it again quite honestly.

I don't think I've ever played a game that tries so hard to fuck me off whilst pushing extraordinary sights and sounds and fun tales.

It's quite possibly the most annoying game I've ever played, and I've played some right stinkers. I don't think it would have been as bad if it was just downright crap, but it's not - it's this half-way house between genius and madness and it's so god-damn painful.

Had a good session yesterday. Did another bit of the main quest and a few sidequests. One sidequest turned completely on its head and changed from a simple job into a full blown story with cutscenes and all, pretty cool. Started finding some of the cyberpsychos which were scary (even though I cheesed one's terrible AI). I'm still just walking and driving everywhere and the city continues to blow me away. I was impressed with GTA V's world but I never really felt a need to explore much. In Night City I'll actively take different routes from A to B and ignore the map indicator just to see what's around the next corner. There's just so much to see and the scale and realism of it all is awesome. Even on the PS4 I'm still blown away by how good the city can look at times, at times its awe inspiring, like at night in the rain or when you're in corpo plaza gazing up at the insanely huge buildings all around you. Only Last of Us 2 and FFVII Remake this year have made me stop in my tracks to admire the sights like this game has.

The architectural design is stunning and there's so much hidden away, from little slums jammed inbetween freeway struts to a sunken giant park I'd driven above many times without having any clue before a quest sent me there. And there's still whole regions of the city I have only been in once or twice, heck, I've not even been to Pacifica. It's without a doubt one of the best realised cities I've seen in games, and yes its mostly set dressing but the weather effects, time of day, the awesome ambient audio and the little events or scenes you can come across just make it a joy to explore.

Also a shout out to the photo mode, I was playing around with it again last night and it is a wonderful thing indeed.

The jank continues to hurt immersion but when it holds off for a while its very easy to get lost in Cyberpunk. I'm still getting the odd crash and the usual litany of bugs, but I still happily boot up the game each night for an hour or two. I've managed to raise my Intelligence to nearly max and now my quickhacks are actually a viable means of combat. I'm also rocking a very powerful precision unique rifle which fires 2 shots at once for when stealth inevitably fails. I'm still poor most of the time, I spend my money on cyberware usually but struggling to make beyond 20k at a time at the moment before I come across something shiny to spend it on. New cars and the more powerful cyberware I will hold off on. I have been getting some decent money from hacking though. I've decided not to really craft as its supposed to be so unbalanced, although I have a ton of crafting mats I should really use to upgrade my weapons.

Generally having a good ol' time, the only thing aside from bugs that bothers me is the paranoia of finishing it too quickly and pacing the main story out. I don't really like this bitty approach to the main story and side quests, it doesn't give you enough indication of how far you are along to help pace when to do side stuff and when to dip back into the story. Right now I'm going off the difficulty indicators to help decide what to do next.

Oh and I went back to the twins to try again and got absolutely mashed in 3 hits, two times in a row. Definitely not happening unless I invest in cyberware later.

Game breaking bug at 30 hours. Delamain’s frozen face is stuck on my screen so I can’t call anyone. Cannot progress the story as a result. Is there any way to access phone calls other than holding down on D-pad? Can’t get in through messages. Hard reset didn’t work. Don’t have any saves from before the bug because I save every 5 seconds.

Just purposefully failed a Delamain mission to clear the bug. Got four hours worth of simultaneous phone calls all talking at the same time. So many voices. Sadly I can now no longer do the delamain missions on this play through but at least I can fucking complete it

:(

Simultaneous dialogue has been the biggest (in-game) bug for me.

Can you give any examples @JoeK?

I’ve genuinely found it really enjoyable so struggle to guess what the uncool/shit bits are that you mention.

I’m just clearing some side missions etc but am at the start of Act 3 I think.

I think it's a few things really - the sheer amount of bugs in the game is now so immersion breaking for me that I cannot stick with it anymore. None of these bugs actually 'break' the game (well, not often anyway), but I kind of now see these little niggles everywhere I go, and it has effectively screwed up my ability to move past them :( . I'm certain they wouldn't affect others the same, but in this particular case it really does.

There's also the alarming realisation that they've seemingly got all this level of customisation in the game to 'be who you want to be', and I don't care anymore, because - by and large - most of the combat elements result in me frantically mashing buttons to get the job done. There's too much stuffed in the game for no real appreciable reason other than to say 'it's in there'.

Doesn't help that the UI tries everything in its power to upset me.

This was literally the stick that broke the camel's back for me. I couldn't hack it anymore, and pulled the plug.
