I've just hit the 40 hour mark and I think I'm nearing the end of act 1. In a year with Tsushima and The Last of Us 2 this is probably easily in my top 3.

It does crash on me occasionally but the PS5 loads so quickly it barely matters, apart from that I've not had any bugs of notice.

I really hope the developers are able to continue to add features to this amazing world and give it a bit more depth around the edges, what's already there is amazing in my opinion.

yeah I’ve done a lot of cookie cutter side quests interspersed with surprisingly deep side quests, exploration and what not. I’m saving up for bouncy feet so I can parkour up buildings. There are lots of stealth paths that require them.

Cyberpsychos are supposed to be taken down nonlethally?

Whoops!

get their health mad low with guns and then beat the shit out of them

How much are bouncy feet? I have Lynx paws, which are sneaky running feet.

I did a tiny sidequest and now have a ripperdoc who gives me a discount. I think leg-mods are 45000,-, but I think I paid around 35000,-. They're worth every single eddie.8-)

On the topic, I've not seen a single cyberpsycho yet and I've been playing for ages and have the quest to subdue them. Is my game bugged or something or will I come across them in side missions etc?

For me, they crop up as I drive around.

Although I think I have a bug in one, under a construction site. I, uh, 'flatlined' the psycho, had the ending call with the person who gave me the mission, and then the mission later reappeared in the list. If I go back to the location, there's nothing to find.

Well I got a sort of non tits-up outcome (it was still chaotic though), so yeah you don't have to fight them. Won't say any more than that so I don't spoil it if you go back at some point.

Personally I'd roll with it. The game's designed around continuing with whatever choices you make, which may have good or bad consequences down the line just like Witcher 3. In a lot of cases there isn't necessarily a 'good' outcome and just because a result seems bad it doesn't necessarily mean the consequences will be. Hell in Witcher 3 there were a bunch of quests where doing the 'right' thing could lead to some devestating consequences!

I even read last night that there are some side quests that can just end right there and then depending on your actions, though for those I'd be more willing to fall back to a quick save because that means missing out on actual content.

so... I started the entire game over....

I enjoyed it more this time around.... but it was crashing more often....

the job still went to shit in a different way....

I took basically the opposite decision in nearly every turn.... I ended up with an extra boss battle! the mission was harder and it still went completely tits up....

except this time it would seem I also got done by an extra person who fucked me over....

I kinda prefer where I ended up first time.... but now I am too invested in the new character....

I am hoping I can resist starting over again.... it does not feel like I am enjoying this.... send help....

I really hate the combat.... and the stealth.... I just had a boss battle that seemed out of a PS2 game.... I love the setting and the characters so far.... I am really confused about whether I like it or not..... I think the detective mode stuff is really cool.

Yeah the boss battles kinda suck at least early on.

Totally love the weapon design in this. All the weapons look cool as fuck and the attachments are awesome as well; the scopes all have snazzy filters and animations on them. The way the guns animate as you switch to them is awesome too. It may have other issues but they totally nailed the cyberpunk feel for the tech in this world. I'm out in the badlands now and all the installations out there are so cool, I've still got a ton to see as well.

This latest story quest is pretty cool, its just a crying shame that bugs continually break the immersion. Literally every sequence I've been in since the start of this quest chain has had bad visual bugs and interface issues. Examples: Reloading a checkpoint has me sitting inside the driver of our vehicle every time, letting me see the inside of her face and eyeballs. At sniper range away from my AI buddy in a fight she just stood there as 2 enemies went all the way up to her and they all just stood there looking at each other forever. My companion didn't animate riding a bike properly so she was standing in it the whole trip. Even though I have subtitles off the first line spoken on reloading a game is displayed onscreen and you have to toggle subtitles again to get rid of it. Enemies with items you can't pick up for no reason. Overlapping quest speech if you don't let conversations play all the way out before moving on. Enemy voice lines in alert status being repeated without any break. Hovering lampposts at a motel during cutscenes. Quest characters animations snapping or the whole character teleporting into the correct position. The list goes on. I highly recommend people to hold off on playing this until the patches unless you're already invested like me and willing to put up with a lot of jank as it really does break the illusion at times. What's weird is up until this point a lot of the story quests had been ok bugwise, it may be that some threads got more fixes than others before release.

Btw can't you stealth takedown humanoid robots? I'm not getting any prompt when I sneak up on them?

Right so I copied the virus rather than deleting it. This was the problem. So now I have the virus to maybe use later? Not sure if I can or will know when to use it later.

I did not piss off the person who gave me

this chip. So that might be better than the alternative? Also in this version I rescued someone during the mission. They said the owe me a favour.

Because I did the boss battle in the end rather than sneak out I ended up with two weapons apparently I would have missed.

This mission is really complex. fucking hell. This is really cool actually

I think you are right Alan. I need to stop trying to get the right ending. This is not letting me enjoy the game.

Is this game good? Maybe it is.

I hope it comes out on PS4.

Is this on PC? I have not gotten almost any visual bugs. Maybe just been lucky? What’s your card?

Finished the main story just now. The amount of bugs increased exponentially as the game progressed. Mucho reloading. Love the design and the world but the actual game systems were stuck together with sticky tape. Will revisit when it’s all next gen’d. Enjoyed my visit to NC.

I'm on the good old base PS4. Maybe there are a lot more visual bugs on PS4 (aside from the general performance and graphics). That seems weird but other PC users have reported seeing very little visual bugs, so maybe the game graphics/animation code is actually substantially different on PS4 hence the extra bugs. Right now it's my decision to keep playing it because I could just get the refund, I'm just really into the story and world and I don't want to have to start over in a few months.

Regarding the mission you did, I think you got the 'best' possible outcome now. Whether any of those decisions have longer lasting consequences I don't know (and don't want to know until they happen, that's part of the fun of CDPR games). Yes, I would continue and get through Act 1, the game gets better as it goes on.

I have a spoiler story question for anyone who is far into the game, something I'm a bit confused about:

Spoiler

Helman. I am doing that main story thread right now and just reached Helman in person. What I'm confused about is why Helman is ostrocised/running from Araska. I know he made the chip but I don't recall anything in the initial conversation with Takamura about Helman being in Arasaka's bad books. However this was a week ago now so I might have forgotten, did I miss or forget something? No spoilers for future events though please! Can anyone fill me in? Thanks.

Yeah, I'm really enjoying the game even in the base, unpatched state (downloading 70GB ties up my network access for days). My enjoyment is greater than my indignation at CDPR for releasing in such a state, but I agree I probably shouldn't be rewarding their management by not claiming my refund.

Almost done with it, not sure if I just stick around town for a bit or finish it now and maybe return in a few months time. It's a good game that basically puts you on rails to experience an interactive movie as its main story. Its flaws are plentiful though and many of these are detrimental to creating an immersive world. It played like a mixture of Uncharted, GTA V and maybe Deus Ex, even though it never reached the latter's brilliance (e.g. in dialogue, in freedom and balance and especially in the way its story is told). I am pretty sure many of CDPR's design decisions will be discussed for years to come.

I didn't have any major technical issues with it, by the way (PC).

Like The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077 pt3 is going to be awesome. Assuming CDPR survive the fallout from this release.

Hello Games has a really good reputation these days. If they can come back their launch of No Man's Sky, then CDPR come easily come back from this.

Use SDR.

Not even going to bother watching, but have quoted because we're on new page and people might miss it.

We are never getting proper HDR for this game, it's just not happening. I'll be gobsmacked if it happens.

If you like stuff darker and detail blown out go SDR, if you can handle a more washed out experience and want to read the pricing on Vending Machines go HDR

I watched the vid now in light of your comment. That's not what his video says at all.

Not only come back from it but NMS was really successful, I don’t think CDPR have anything to worry as this is a game that will carry on selling for years to come.
