Update 1.05 - load up my save and go into the settings menu for my customary check to see if my changes are still present and now I’m locked in the menu with no way to return to the game.

Same thing happened to me, rebooted got the message and was then able to change them, shockingly bad tbh, I must have had to set my settings about 20-30 times now since I got the game.

Yeah, you just have to jump in at the deep end with this game. It’s a confusing messy swimming pool that will probably give you a verruca, you’ll see a few plasters floating about, but once you start swimming it’s good fun.

A pool full of massive turds to try and dodge more like.

Quality lighting bug -

I've read a lot of comments about sexual content and nudity in the game but I can only assume it's all been cut from the Japanese release of the game since I've yet to see anything after nearly 30 hours.

Surprised to see the gore left intact, that usually gets censored too.

First proper mission in Night City, where you save the girl from the bathtub - was she not naked for you then?

I can't remember it was so long ago. Don't think so.

Edit: Just checked youtube, she's wearing a bra in the Japanese version.

Unrelated to that, the crime bosses constantly spamming you with advertisements for used cars in this game is quite odd.

They're mostly fixers, rather than crime bosses, but yes, that is one of the more comedically misjudged elements of the game, thematically.

(also one of the balance-misjudged elements, in terms of the prices. I'm level 19, have bought no weapons or armour - my only expenditure has been one bit of cyberware and two quest-advancing payments - and I'm still only at 20,000 eddies, so every purchasable vehicle is either out of reach or seems like a colossal waste of money)

Ten hours in, no crashes or major bugs so far. It's become a very fast-paced ride with an interesting story and a gorgeous looking city. Still, its flaws (see above: overload of game mechanics and systems [I haven't even used one consumable item so far], shallow NPC, dozens of side missions you don't even know where they are coming from, stealth not properly working for me, also: it does a really, really poor job of explaining its systems, and I don't find those braindance investigations/edits particularly exciting) are still very much prominent. I think it's a good game, but CDPR's hype machine has done a tremendous, tremendous disservice to this game.

Don't you jack in at every opportunity?  Nets 500-1500 every time with a couple of perks.and there are.usually multiple points in any gig.  Alternatively stand next to a vend point and craft guns for sale.

I do enjoy driving around the city with only 3 vehicles on screen, really brings the immersion to Night City.

Conversely, I genuinely do like this - it means you can absolutely tear around the place on a bike at top speed without having to dodge traffic all the time.

I try to, but despite having the perk which is supposed to highlight point's that can be jacked into, it, er, doesn't, so whenever I come across one it's a pleasant surprise (and usually a computer I was otherwise going to access for free camera access/shutdown purposes)

They show on the mini map with the perk, they're red, are you sure they're not on there?

At 30-something hours I've just discovered you can stash items in the boot of any car you own.

I think the things you can hack in the bases for cash are a bit pointless, they should have made those have the effect of the "breach protocol" hack instead, so targets would be initially expensive to hack, but by subverting vulnerabilities in their internal subnet the cost of hacking goes down, it would add to the skulk about loop. If you still wanted hacking to get you cash, you could replace the Breach Protocol one with a wallet drain or something.

Just got back from the Blackwall and having double crossed me too many times Brigitte was all “what are you gonna do, you’re in MY house” so I blew her brains out and killed everyone I met on the way out. Then I came to my senses, reloaded an earlier save, and walked out peacefully.

That played out differently for me because...

Spoiler

I cut the deal with the western watching Netwatch agent. So when Brigitte and V went to the Blackwall, Netwatch followed. Alt cut off Brigitte and all the voodoos to stop Netwatch getting to her. So when V got out of the tub Brigitte and the rest of the voodoos in the room were braindead in their chairs. I had to fight my way out.

The game wouldn't let me kill Placide, only immobilise him, had a text from him later telling me to watch my back.

Fuck him, what a colossal prick.

One thing I'm not sure I like about the game - it's constantly pushing you to the next thing to do. In stuff like witcher and fallout games it's as much about going out to see what you stumble across as the story quests. Here it feels like they don't have confidence in players to manage that so they're shoving things in your face every so that there's no downtime. I suppose it fits the theme and setting but it'd be nice to turn off the phone calls and texts for a bit.

Thing is, I really enjoyed just going for a walk for a few blocks in the game, seeing how the atmosphere changes between districts.

Is there a rule for police intervention? I seem to get an illegal activity warning if I so much as draw my weapon on the street, but if I turn the next corner and have a firefight leaving six street rats in a mangled heap the cops are nowhere to be seen.

Also, does anyone know how you put a weapon away once you’ve drawn it?

Douple tap the weapon draw button.

Yeah there’s a rule. It’s broken: get a police warning and it’s still fine unless you are standing next to one of them.
