Perhaps it should be surprising that there will still be people making excuses for them even after they've admitted to a deliberate bait and switch operation for consoles, but there we are.

Yeah, on the base PS4 to be honest I'd be expecting 1080p30 with no performance issues, and of course no RTX at all. That to me would be acceptable for the base PS4 (the less said about the base Xbox One the better - 720p, tops?) - the fact it's dropping to 20fps (or lower) is really poor form. Add on all the bugs and … it's just not acceptable.

Consensus, and fact. It's SDR in a HDR wrapper. Turn it off.

There’s the delamaij vehicle? I just ran straight for it and jumped in.

Certainly don’t remember a mech on that mission, or trying to fight in the garage.

(hacker/stealth/hard)

Couldn't do that either, because there were guys stood in front of it that mowed me down before I got anywhere close. Firing squad, basically. I've turned it down to normal now as hard seemed a bit broken, and it rapidly became really easy. I'm a hacker type with no points in body/armor and I can just stand in front of 3-4 guys and tank the damage while I kill them :(

Yep turn it off and then adjust the gamma to your liking. There's currently no way to use HDR mode without raised blacks and muted colours.

There's an HDTVtest video on the topic, I'd link it but Google is currently dead.

Furthermore on the HDR side of things - I fully expect CDPR to never provide a proper HDR implementation for this game - they didn't for Witcher 3 (it's a botch job on consoles and they just didn't bother at all for PC). Cyberpunk was clearly not developed with HDR in mind. The same happened with RDR2 from Rockstar.

I am of course prepared to be pleasantly surprised. :)

2 street cred levels away from those sweet, sweet mantis blades!  Although I spent way too much last night on a legendary katana and it’s already going through fools like a hot knife through butter.  Bit of a shame my guy looks like he’s just stumbled out of a Godskitchen all-nighter.

The crashes are absolutely doing my head in - must have had 5 crashes to the Home Screen (ps5).  Really knocks my enjoyment of the game as I’m constantly waiting for the next crash and saving far more often than I would be otherwise.  Poor fucking show.

These are brilliant. I don’t think there are any of those I wouldn’t want to see in all games!

Agreed, I feel like I might be missing out if I wait for the bugs to be fixed before I buy the game. This kind of activity is part of the charm of open world games!

On the HDR thing, can it be turned off in-game on the Xbox? RDR2 didn't allow this - you had to turn HDR off at a system level, which was a ballache.

Sony will refund you if you put a complaint in about Cyberpunk's performance, allegedly they are putting a business complaint into CDPR.

Can I ask how you did this, please? I'm definitely going to take the refund.

You have to do that on PS5 as well, as HDR is on at a system level and displays SDR content in a HDR wrapper. On PS4 it auto-switches. A backward move from Sony.

I’m glad this game auto saves every fifteen seconds and you can quick save whenever you want. I was in a cutscene where I had the option of doing something if my Body attribute was high enough, so I loaded a save before the mission, did some side quest shit, and went back and did the thing. Feels good

What version is this? Don't think my PS5 is doing that I keep having to save though I have been doing a lot of free roam stuff.

What's a business complaint?

Sony allowed the game on their platform so they can't be too unhappy with it.

I'd wager it passed Cert with issues that Sony waivered on the promise that CDPR would fix them ASAP and they've likely failed to do that. If the game is crashing consoles a bunch as well Sony (and Microsoft) will be seeing that too and asking them to bring the crash rate down as soon as they can.

It won't mean anything in actuality, Sony aren't going to remove it from PSN until it's in a better state, but a smaller studio probably would see more severe consequences (but they probably also wouldn't be granted the waivers in the first place ;))
