Any news on the embargo date for this? Might buy now and save it for next year as I can get it for under a tenner from GAME with a voucher they emailed me.

Double check that, I got something similar and it’s a tenner off £49.99.

Really?

Yeah, it was hot on the heels of an email saying Yodel may deliver my PS5 on the Friday - code for 40 quid off Watchdogs or Cyberpunk (could have been a coincidence). Console arrived on the Thursday in the end.

Yep, you're totally right - completely misread it. I was waiting for reviews, even at a tenner. I think I'll leave it until they patch it for next gen, providing it's really good as well. Open world stuff is not nearly as much fun as it first was for me.

I'm waiting until the next gen version next year, I have plenty to play between now and then. Will have to shut my eyes to any spoilers but I will be interested to see how it reviews (and how it looks and performs on the base consoles!)

B00 to all the doom and gloom merchants. Roll on Dec 10th I say! ;)

I'll be playing on a turbo pc so I do appreciate the difference though. Can't wait to get utterly stuck (jacked?) in and overwhelmed by it all (hopefully).

I don't think that this has been posted yet, no spoilery stuff here:

This is one of the only games I've ever pre-ordered, partly due to 5 quid off and partly because I have a lot of faith in the devs. Even if some aspects of the game turn out to be dissapointing, for me the big draw is the world, story, questlines and skill trees. I'm confident Projekt Red will pull off a very entertaining game after Witcher 3 at least in those areas, and it looks very immersive which is another big draw. My main worry is I'm getting it on base PS4 and even in the Witcher 3 the loading times were painful (especially after dying). I just hope I'm not going to be spending half the game staring at loading icons.

It's worth pointing out that Cyberpunk's supposed to be a slow burn so we probably won't have a good feel for the overall quality until we've put at least a few days into it. Witcher 3 was the same, I found the start very slow and not very interesting but it ended up being one of my favourite RPGs of all time. Fingers crossed, its the only big game I'm interested in this winter and really hoping for a winner to get me through those dark cold evenings!

Going off on the controversy tangent, yes, I don't agree with CD's treatment of staff in some cases and the sexism/transism stuff from some of their members is a disgrace, but I don't think that reflects on the majority of the very talented members of the team who seem to geniuinely want to push the boundaries of the genre. That's not to excuse the behaviour from some invididuals, and hopefully there isn't nasty stuff in those regards in the game, certainly I've not seen anything about it in previews. I didn't find it a problem in Witcher 3, for me the sexualisation of women in that regard was part of the setting as a whole (although you can't deny some of it is eye candy for the lads and sex for entertainment) and the womanising/sexual exploits was part of Geralt's character (although yes it is a bit creepy at times) - but there were also plenty of excellent and strong female characters in that game.

In Cyberpunk its too early to tell how its going to go on these things, certainly the setting will always lend itself to scantily clad females and a lot of sexualisation for both the seedy cyberpunk tone and the in-game commercialisation of sex, which you'd expect from an 80's cyberpunk creation. Whether that's ok or not is a different question. I guess we'll find out when the game comes out. The trans stuff is a bit more concerning, certainly from what I've seen it could be interpreted very poorly, whether any of it remains in the game after the backlash I don't know. I guess where it falls could depend on whether trans/intersex stuff in the game world is portrayed as freaky or fetishism (as seems to be implied from the controversial early promotional stuff), or simply a freedom of choice for characters to embrace. I still think the inability to switch male/female voices (unless that's been changed already), although a minor detail for most people, is a bit of a slap in the face for those who would like the option to do so - I mean why not, it costs practically nothing to do and for a character creation tool that is supposed to offer so much freedom in sexual orientation/phsyical sex it seems like a stupid oversight.

Anyway, I'm not particularly good at voicing my opinions on stuff like this. Although I would like to just focus on the game itself - I think given CD's recent track record its pretty important to keep an eye on this stuff, whether or not the game is good, especially given how influential and successful their games have become.

That video’s well worth watching and answers many lingering questions that some may have had regarding the population density, driving, skill trees, upgrades and combat.

Sounds like they may well have pulled it off.

Happy to wait until the proper next-gen version and for the inevitable horde of bugs and minor issues that the game will launch with to be ironed out. A little patience from Series X/PS5 owners will be amply rewarded In this case I think.

I HAVE ZERO PATIENCE I CANNOT WAIT

So I'm just hoping the Xbox version isn't too bad and includes dynamic res and a 60FPS option. That would be enough.

I have waited 10 years, my health isn't great, I REFUSE TO WAIT

...and I'm more than willing to start over on next gen shiny shiny if I've finished it by then

Which is good if you don’t mind them fucking you around for a day or two.

Huh? I've only bought keys from them for Switch before but always seemed good. Is it different for PC games?
