It is pretty rubbish that GRRM has had 8 years to release a couple of books and hasn’t even finished the first one yet. Too busy spending that filthy, filthy HBO lucre!

If I were HBO, in 10 years’ time (or whenever the books are finally released,  assuming GRRM doesn’t die beforehand), I’d pay everyone an obscene amount of money to get the band back together and do ‘alternate’ seasons from the point they originally had no more book material (season 6 onwards, right?). Sure, the anti-ageing makeup, kids and CG Diana Rigg challenges would be immense, but come on! Think big!

I think the Jamie plot line is bound to fizzle out. He's gutted because he's come all this way, burned his bridges, and now his allies will learn the worst secret of all

Except they won't cause the creepy kid is probably going to deduce he has some purpose to fulfil and so will keep his mouth shut but Jamie will be wracked with guilt

I just finished rewatching S7 and it wasn't at all as bad as I remember, the set pieces are fantastic and whilst Dany is annoying whenever she's riding her dragon and blasting fools it's pretty fucking awesome. I hope her two remaining Dragons survive, they're kinda like big flying fire breathing cats.

I've got an idea, let's do a crossover between one of the most violent and pornographic shows on TV and Sesame Street.

Next, bring Elmo to Oz.

You’ve obviously not watched the absolutely astounding Spartacus if you think GoT is remotely the most violent or most pornographic show.

I said "one of..", partly with that show in mind.

8x2. Quality isn’t great and there’s onscreen VPN pop-ups but it’s certainly watchable.

8x2 spoilers

Spoiler

Weird episode with a lot of fan service. Last week WInterfell felt like a big sprawling place this week it felt cramped and claustrophobic. I like Arya and Gendry getting together and Jaime knighting Brienne - fan service but I think we deserve it.

I guess next week will be the Battle of Winterfell. I always find the big battle episodes pretty dull and I hope they don’t use that same trick of having re-enforcements turn up when it looks like all is lost. If Cerseis army rock up to the battle I’ll lol my face off. Also, since it looks like Cersei isn’t going to join the fight the whole ‘go north, capture a white-walker and bring him back’ plan looks ever more rubbish than it did at the time.

The whole episode was a little flat or something and some of the acting was absolute trash. Meh/10

If that happens...

Euron playing Cersei is probably the bookies' favourite, because he's always been fiercely Ironborn and never one to serve. Maybe he lied about not bringing those elephants! Y'know — 'cause he'd find it boring otherwise. Didn't Braavos Gatiss turn down Cersei for a loan in S7?

I really enjoyed E2, anyway; much more than last week's. Minimal Dany making room for a change. Tyrion's worried walkabouts normally indicate a good episode to me, but where's Mel?! And on that thought, White Stannis...
