Got any examples of people saying it is ruining the show?

Cursory quoting from a few pages back.

Oof, did not enjoy that one bit. Probably the single worst episode of GoT ever. It's turned into a videogame instead of the historical, geopolitical, psychological, political masterpiece GRRM invented.

I don't love it cos of the dragons and the boobies and the revenge. GoT is much more elevated than that. It riffs on family, greed, society, justice...

I'm tempted to say that this is the episode it jumped the shark. Everyone is so stupid now. They all do things that betray themselves in service of plot. The world is no longer a real environment these people are fighting over. Why the fuck did Sansa insist Brienne go to Kings Landing when even Littlefinger told her to listen to only Brienne?

Gendry walked from Eastwatch to the white walkers to the wall in an episode. The army of the dead have been marching from Mance Rayders camp to the wall for like THREE seasons, or something.

They're fucking it all up!!!!

Or Benjen rescue Jon and start riding South so you think they're in the clear, and have the ZD appear and kill them off, because fuck Jon Snow as a hero protagonist, frankly

Having time to digest, rant incoming:

Benioff and Weiss are shit.

GoT 1-4 was among the greatest TV of all-time because of the source material. But Dorne-disease is now affecting the main plot and the last few episodes have been pretty trashy, aside from the loot train sequence.

It's staggering how they haven't even attempted to replicate the political back-stabbing, character detail and horrific deaths that made the show a hit in the first place. They've turned it into a fairly bland and inconsistent fantasy show. I don't care about the advancement of the Night King, because I no longer care about anybody South of the Wall. All we really have left to look forward to are CGI battles. Where are the supporting cast? Where is Cersei's new small counsel? Why was Eastwatch abandoned!? Why does Sansa only talk to 3 people?

The entire purpose of the last two episodes was...

How can we give the Night King a dragon?

The character decisions, relationships, sense of scale, distance and pace were all thrown under the bus in order to make that happen.

A decent programme has become Disney cardboard character fan service fantasy. People are entitled to say something.

If you don't like it, stop reading.

None of this is in it because a.) the writers don't give a shit about the surrounding substance which enriches the show, and b.) couldn't write it for shit anyway. Some of the monologues we've had lately are shocking. Arya's one about shooting arrows was....just..wow  Who the fucking hell came up with all that shite.

King's Landing is dead. The south, in general, is dead. It's awful. Like I said earlier, it feels like Cersei is ruling over a fallout zone of mindless zombies; there's just no life there any more. I couldn't give a fuck about saving the south because they've let us fall out of love with the capital as a whole! They've totally failed to knit together the action in the north with the lives in the south. I literally struggle to believe it's the same continent. I struggle to imagine Jaime in a coat, let alone fighting a wight. They've failed to maintain the grandeur of Westeros and the desire to see a strong leader on the throne to lead the people. I'd rather they all packed up and sailed off.

Ep 6

Example. Undead bear. Wasn't needed. Costs $$$.

And worse of all, some comparisons to Dexter!

Don't get me wrong, the show isn't above criticism. The plot to go North was ill thought through, and this episode the fast travel was an issue. But there was less criticism over season 5 with Ramsey's 10 good men and a whole load of sexualised violence (which may have also included the accidental rape scene). This season has been far better, but every time there's some nitpicking (and somebody posting that GRRM is a god and B&W are shit hacks). Also a lot of it seems just wrong. I've read people complain that they're afraid to kill anybody off, and then complain that King's Landing is boring since they killed everyone there off 7 episodes ago. People are complaining that Tyrion has been outmanouvered by his family. I can only assume they paid no attention to the Battle of Blackwater where he would have been killed if not for Pod, and his outcome in all of that. He's smart, but not a super hero.

And I definitely don't want characters saying "What a couple of months on the road that was." every time they get somewhere. A 'Three weeks later...' title card would be preferable to that.

Well, people have said that they are fucking up the show, that the writers are stupid, that is now simply an action fest with no depth, etc, which I consider very exaggerated reactions. Maybe the word ''ruin'' hasn't been mentioned per se, maybe it has, I haven't read all the posts.

I said nobody 'here'

We are playing with words now. You posted another article before that one which said how the show was now completely changed for the worst and you have said that they are fucking it up multiple times. It's only logical to assume when you post an article afterwards which is titled ''Thrones is a terrible show'' that you may actually agree a bit with what you are posting. If not, then I take it back.

So tell me, is the show fucked up now for you or not? Is it still really good or has become nothing of its former self, with no depth and just an action fest?

So it's all about chains, Dany is the breaker of chains, Night King is the maker of chains so therefore it's obvious that Dany is going to finish off the Night King especially after he took down her dragon with a heat seeking javelin.

So why is clegane getting sent off in a boat to kings landing with the zombie? I mean why is he going off alone, aren't they supposed to be having this big meeting with all the royalty there and wouldn't it be a good idea to protect the thing you lost a dragon and nearly the magnificent seven for?

Anyway what's the prediction for the mega episode? I reckon big meetup in kings landing between the royalty, Cersei will try to pull some kind of trap, maybe a surprise ambush using eastern armies? Cleganebowl for sure, or at least something between them. In winter fell shits gonna go down between Sansa and Arya, I bet Jon comes home and tells them to bend the knee to Dany and Sansa betrays him.

I'd imagine that it will kick off in Eastwatch when the undead finally arrive, presumably they must have some plan to get past the wall. Maybe the night king can just fly over it, butcher everyone at the gate and open it to let his army through. Eastwatch is screwed unless Danny sends dragons or the north men show up.

Whatever happens it should be a belter. Some main characters are definitely going to snuff it. My money is on Dany, Tyrion or Jon, maybe the hound too. Can't wait to see who is left and what factions are at play to fend off the undead for the final season.

Here in Swansea it's "dull cunt". :coffee:

But this show isn't in Swansea, or England, it's in a make-belief land called Westeros. :P

Yeah, but they speak English in various UK accents. It needs to sound natural. You could argue that in the magical land of Westeros, it's normal for people from the north to use the phrase "Go make out with a sidewalk, you goddam jerkoff", but it wouldn't exactly trip off the tongue.

I dunno, maybe Tyrion's just not as clever as he thinks he is. He's supposedly the clever one out of the Lannisters, but his own family consistently outmanoeuvre him - i.e. he was outwitted by Jaime at Casterly Rock, and by Cersei at his trial.

Also, didn't he specifically advise Daenarys not to take the dragons off to Eastwatch?

yeah not sure how Tyrion gets blamed for the loss of a dragon!

Also hes just supposed to be clever.  Of Course Jaime is gonna crush him in a battle he's been a military man his whole life.

I thought people were making too much out of it, but the director has confirmed Jon's sword didn't come to life. There was no intention of anything happening with the eye. It's just a reflection or lighting or something.

I reckon the finale will have big wins all round for the bad guys. Cersei will have set some trap for Danaerys, Jon etc which will work, killing a large part of Danny's army (maybe even one of the dragons) and capturing her and a few of the other northern allies. Cleganebowl will happen, killing the hound. It'll be funny if after all the clamour from the fans, the whole thing's over in seconds; zombie mountain just kills him in one swing.

The final scene will be a VFX fest of the entire Wall collapsing, crushing the Night's Watch castles, and a kabillion wights streaming over the rubble.

N.B. Just in case anyone's worried, none of this is based on having read any leaks, it's all just my own probably massively inaccurate conjecture.

Don't lie, it was Brann warging into the sword, while also being the Night King and building the wall...

Is that real or a parody account?

Teats.

Utterly real. When they give evidence they quote endless streams of book text, and when they dislike something they create their own replacement lines and script. All the olde English and everything.

They also give the characters nicknames like Sandra for Sansa. It's just what they're like.
