Just a quick session before work, stashing stuff at camp and not finding the bike, running to the chopper to find it almost fixed, going to fill jerry cans and finding the bike again, finding another jerry can and scrap metal we need amazingly, thrn the server restarts :( log back in and a crashed chopper has appeared, chopper is reset and we can't fix it, i go and get the bike, fuel it and we raid the crashed chopper. I go and stash the bike.

A nice quiet morning session.

That was a funny session, mumble breaking down on us just as we contact players in the North West airfield was just perfect.

We were then forced to use the in game voice comms which lead to us losing contact when more than 40 feet away, we lost Plums and I presume he ran off with the other group of three guys thinking it was us? I like to think that's what happened and he looked so happy and free when running off, like our child had finally left home and was having fun with his new friends and their flares.

Yeah talk about being left in the lurch. We were sort of just milling around, silent, occasionally looking at each other and doing the friendship dance.

I did actually find you guys, then realised the time and had to leave.

Amusing incident with a grenade last night, and no it wasn't MB this time :)

We're at the NWAF, meet up with a couple of randoms (Mumble gone down so on direct chat only, no chance of getting the drop on anyone). Plums, MB and Cheeko are in the barracks building and I'm back a bit watching the entrance. These two guys approach, one throws a flare down, one kneels against the wall of the building. Then the first guy runs to the front door of the barracks and lobs a grenade in! Massive explosion, confused shouts. Assuming Plums, MB and Cheeko took that in the face and are dead I open up on the guy kneeling. I only have the M1014 and I'm out of range for a quick kill but I hit him a couple of times and he goes down injured. He starts shouting out "wtf guys you said you were friendly!" and we exchange a few heated remarks, I point out that his mate just threw a grenade in, he seems confused by that and denies it. Could it be someone else? It is dark and it's perfectly possible that some aggressor just ran in and took the opportunity..

Surprisingly, the only fatality was the grenade thrower. Assumptions are that the grenade hit the roof and fell at his feet and our team were far enough inside not to be taken out instantly. As we retreat and repair we find the other guy again, and he explains what happened - his mate basically "did a Mammas_Boy" :lol:

lol we've been saying that every-time someone spoons it with a grenade for ages now :)

Just realised I never read the official DayZ forums any more, not since the new server, we live in our own little bubble now!

Should I post that video in our thread on the server forum ? :)

Ok I've been reading this thread for ages and wishing I had an up to date PC so I could join in. Today I'm tempted to go and buy one because it really just sounds like too much fun to be missing out on. I haven't bought a new PC for ages and appreciate this might not be the best place to ask for new PC advice but seeing as I'm basically looking for something just to play this, what's the minimum sort of spec I want to look for, and what sort of money should I be spending?

Ha, I'm seriously considering dropping a few hundred on upgrades for this. I'm getting a bit fed up with 20 fps, dropping to 10 in some buildings!

A long overdue ssd arrived today (not for this game specifically , just general use). Just contemplating what would now give me most improvements for least cost.

This game makes me wish I had a powerful PC. I play it on a 27" 2011 iMac. Fantastic screen, but isn't designed for games :(

I play it on the second lowest resolution on offer (dunno what it is exactly) and it looks pretty hideous. I once whacked it up to 2560x1440 and it looked incredible. Unfortunately, it was like wading through glue. It must be amazing to play it at high resolution.
