Yep, along with another major beta update. Resisting the urge to go back to it, though, because I really don't want to spoil the final version for myself. Can't wait!

Been on this all day. It managed to pull me away from Destiny on my day off, which is quite the achievement.

Anyway, it's great. Unforgiving in the oldschool CRPG way, but that's entirely the point. Really combat-heavy, but I like that as I've always been more into building a party and fighting than following a plot. The writing is good though (the odd typo notwithstanding). The dice-rolling exasperates as always with these things (two 90% misses in a row at point-blank, and the like), but I've come through relatively unscathed so far.

Apart from losing a team member on the first part of the main mission...

So yeah, very happy with it so far. Two for three on my early access / kickstarter gambles. It's even making me quite excited about Torment :P

Edit: that RPS Wot I Thing hangs on its perceived shortcomings as a game dated by design, but it's really not as bad as the article makes out. Certainly the skill use, which amounts to putting each character's particular talent on their hotbar. I will concede there's some iffy inventory management choices in there, but nothing a minor patch wouldn't remedy.

I only made the team leader from scratch (even then I just imported her from the beta save), and filled out the rest with premades. I'm assuming my first playthrough is going to be a glorious clusterfuck of bad decisions and missed opportunities, so I just wanted to get in there quick.

I find the fact that all the different gun types need their own points is irritating. Just make everyone energy weapon specialist then any energy weapon they find is usable. if you specialise in 'smg' then you have to wait till you chance across a good one, unable to use the handguns and shotguns you chance on.

Also a 'global tool bar' so I could have my computer dudes tech skill, and my heavys bash skill on screen at the same time.

I'm going to do the same thing, in my mind the leader is 'me' and the rest are existing inhabitants of the wasteland. And for me half the fun in such games is making do with the decisions I made from the character creation onwards. Discovering both the possibilities and the drawbacks.
