Another one probably seen too, Taking of Deborah Logan? I never realised that was a found footage. The poster always put me off. What was the other possession one... The Devil's Due? I've watched so many, they all merge shakily into one.

I just watched Devil's Due trailer, but if its the correct one you saw it looks and sounds awful.

Yeah, that rings a bell. Have you seen Evidence? Not the shit new one, but the one where the group of friends go out into the wildlands outside of LA where some creature starts to track them. But then it all goes off the rails. I loved that.

marcus
Does anyone know of a website that lists release dates for horror movies? The best I have been able to find so far is - https://www.upcominghorrormovies.com/on-dvd
Opinionated Ham Scarecrow
Watched The Pact (2012) last night. This somehow passed me by, but I thought it was very decent. Anyway, It's on Netflix if you haven't seen it.

If you like these, this is pretty predictable, but enjoyable none the less, with some decent moments when it all starts kicking off. I watched this yesterday. As you say, predictable but enjoyable. Makes me want to watch the Blair Witch project again, I think that's still the best found footage movie ever made.

Yeah really enjoyed it, not as great as Night House as Antlers was one of those films heavily hyped. But definite worth a watch.
three1ne
Antlers was like a great X Files episode. Which ultimately disappointed me as that first teaser trailer looked stunning.
marcus
Really struggling to find interesting horror movies that I am yet to watch, so have been looking at the newer ones on Netflix. He Never Died was reasonable, and there is mileage in Henry Rollins's character enough for it to become a series IMO. I did enjoy Girl On The Third Floor a lot, the main guy was giving off some real Bruce Campbell vibes and it even looked likely to go a bit 'Evil Dead' partway through until the final act which took a disappointing direction. The Night House was notable for a remarkable lead performance by Rebecca Hall. And I am shortly to finish a god-awful film called There's Someone Inside Your House featuring a diverse bunch of college-kids so stereotypical and bland in a film which is instantly forgettable. That when I start a film, I feel compelled to finish it, is a real pain in the ass OCD I have sometimes.

Oh god if I had that affliction I would have probably a thousand extra films watched, all I seem to be doing lately is watching the first half hour of films and then jettisoning them.. Did you watch His House from last year? Not mind blowing or anything but I thought it was decent and handled the subject matter in an intelligent way whilst still working as a good horror film - something I think a lot of recentish ‘horror’ films fail to do.

I think His House was great in that it clearly had something to say, but was also a good horror film too. It’s a really tough combo to pull off - see the recent Candyman remake for Exhibit A.

Absolutely, Candyman (2021) was one of the films I was thinking of, felt similarly about Relic as well (although obv I know a lot like it), whereas something like Get Out, or His House manage it.
marcus
The Feast (2021) is a Welsh horror movie that is well worth a watch, with a great performance from Annes Elwy as the mysterious waitress Cadi in particular.
Goose
Not sure where to put this, but I'm making a series of videos featuring all the trailers from a specific film series. I did Halloween a few weeks back, and this time I've gone with The Exorcist.

It was not really intriguing or tense and I found the characters all very unrelatable. I get that it's kind of the point, but still. Especially the main guy annoyed me greatly with his overacting. I'm going to watch Thelma now, I think that's more up my alley.
Sane
Thelma was great! Nice performance by the lead but the mom and dad were also great. I loved the haunting atmosphere and the beautiful Swedish scenery.

Silent Runner
I started watching a new horror TV show - Yellowjackets It starts in the 90's with a girls soccer team (the yellowjackets) on a flight that crashes in the american wilderness. They're isolated and have to survive on their own. It then switches to today and we see the some of the girls as adults - they've started to get creepy letters that might relate to whatever happened when they were lost. There's two episodes of this out and it's pretty good. The split time-period thing works well, it's nicely violent and has a black humour streak, there's a good cast (Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci) and a quality 90's soundtrack. From the trailers it looks like it's going to go down a folk-horror road which is very much my horror cup of tea. On Showtime in America.
