If he gets on with Evil Dead 2 I'd throw in Bad Taste and Brain Dead from Pete Jackson as well. Brain Dead especially.

Coughs read the thread :P

I've persuaded the better half to watch Psycho Goreman with me tonight.

How mental is it?

There's a couple of moments of fairly ott gore, but it's all very cartoony. Essentially Power Rangers, but they're getting arms pulled off and then Monty Python geysers of blood. Not remotely scary or anything. You could probably cut about 3 minutes out of the film and it'd basically be a PG.

The Fog

The Blob (the Chuck Russell remake)

Romero's Zombie movies - first three mostly, although feel free to swap out the remakes of Night and Dawn if so inclined

Slither

The Faculty

Halloween 3 (completely different in tone to the others, but I think it's great)

Some great recommendations, everyone. Thanks!

Yeah, we’ve watched Shaun of the Dead, Poltergeist. Think I’d like to watch the original Night of the Living Dead. Kid needs to know his history.

Gonna watch The Thing soon too. I’m due a rewatch as it’s one of my all-time faves.

Thing is so good, even though I watched it so many times I keep coming back to it every few months.

Let him try Juuon too, and Ringu - the only 2 films which scared the living shit out of me.

An American Werewolf in London is pretty tame by modern horror standards, but is still one of the classics in my eyes. See what he thinks of that.

Nothing with sex in it states @Twinbee and this gets recommended. David meets his dead friend in a porno theatre with a porn film playing in the foreground

It doesn't really show anything in there though, does it? I seem to remember it being a bit more comedy than anything. Saying that, there's is the shower scene as well.

I dunno, I watched it as a kid and really enjoyed it. It was probably the film that got me into horror.

It shows a fair amount. It was actually part of the film, it wasn't just a porn film.

This is a great read.

The Blob remake was so good. I really enjoyed Halloween 3 a lot too.

Caveat has been on my list for a while - I'll watch it over the weekend I think.

Anyone watched Liseys Story? I really like the book but it's got a bit of a kicking and the trailers didn't really sell it.

First time I heard about Liseys Story, dimissed as I assumed it was a thriller not horror?.

Caveat is well worth watching, going to see Conjuring tonight, don't hate but I enjoy the first two enough. Though apprehensive since its directed by the same guy who La Llarona which was boring.

I thought Caveat was really good, maybe not enough for a feature, but the atmosphere and soundtrack were class. It lost it's way near the end though.

The Chris Rock Saw film is the worst film I've watched this year. I wasn't expecting much but this was trash from start to terrible finish. It'll probably get 10 sequels.

I saw Caveat last night and thought it was quite good. Much like Sator though, whilst there are lots of good bits in it, they both lacked something to tie it all together for me but I can't put my finger on what that something is. I think Caveat has a more coherent story, though and I'd still encourage anyone considering watching either to give them a go.

At the other end of the spectrum, I would unreservedly recommend Willy's Wonderland. Another acting masterclass from Nicholas Cage.
