Yes, it's utterly ridiculous that you would try and save money. I hope everyone here is paying the full retail price. Should we blacklist from the forum any website that sells games for less than that? Maybe we should ask Game to generate a "rubberjohnny" promo code that removes any saving from an item, that way you can make sure you're paying the proper price.

I've played GZ. I enjoyed it, for the few hours I played it the weekend I had it. I had a couple of goes doing different tasks, but I did not exhaust every ounce out of it like some did. I'm still of the opinion that GZ is a glorified demo, and that the £25 original asking price was and still is disgusting.

I paid £19.85 for it , and traded it for £18. I got my money's worth. Now it's on PS+ I do plan on revisiting it to reacquaint myself with the controls and characters.

£1.85? that's money's worth for several hours of entertainment, most likely taking hundreds of man hours to create and hone.

Tough. Fucking. Crowd.

This topic is obviously going off course, but the time or resources it takes to make something affects it's price point. But it doesn't affect its value. They are different things.

At the same time, I'd value ground zeroes as way more than a few quid.

And, also simultaneously, I'm not sure the post was that it's only worth £1.85. I think the idea was it's worth at least £1.85.

"One of the best games ever" and people don't want to pay the asking price.

This forum, seriously.

Thing is odds are Konami are still making the same (roughly) per unit sold, the savings aren't going to eat into their bottom line too much. That boat has long since sailed seeing as they're giving up console games for the foreseeable future.

Man that trailer is so hype. A bit sad I've seen the MG, but FUCK IT. IMMA BOUT TO EXPLODE OVER HERE.

Why the fuck does Quiet have such a stupid outfit though, man? I remember Kojima saying way back, that there are REASONS she is basically naked. I bet there aren't any. Or that they are flimsy at best.

It's going to make it cringeworthy playing it in front of my wife, that's for sure. It'll put me off picking Quiet as my companion. Until she's gone to bed, anyway.

I've only ever played MGS1 but the reviews for 5 have been so good that I've been trying to get into GZ to see if I think I'd like it. The fact that 5 is supposed to be low on story is a plus for me because the rubbish plot and dialogue in 1 was bad enough and I hear it's only gotten worse.

Anyway, I feel like GZ should be up my street. Some of my favourite games of all time are stealth games. I like games where you can complete objectives in multiple ways. I like games that leave you in a big area and let you get on with it.

But it's just leaving me cold and bored and I don't know why. Maybe it's that I still don't feel at home with the mechanics (sometimes I sneak up behind an enemy and can interrogate, sometimes I punch them out cold and sometimes I just hit them and start a fight. Not quite sure what I'm doing wrong). Maybe it's that I generally despise military base levels in games, right up there with factory levels. Maybe it's that the AI is cretinous. I don't know. I'm not really seeing many options. I have next to no gadgets, barely anything is interactive. Most of the doors don't open. I'm pretty much just sneaking around crates avoiding spotlights and killing soldiers. It feels really dry which is the last thing I'd expect from MGS given what everyone says about it.

Does it get better or should I cut my losses as 'not for me'. Because the footage of MGS5 looks so creative and inspired for an AAA game but I'm just not getting any of that from GZ so far.

I imagine the game will play out the same way as GZ did for me, i.e trying to be sneaky until caught and then just killing and running to the objective. At first I just want to get through the game asap, then if I still care I'll go back and try and play the game more stealthily for longer duration.

I'm currently playing through GZ and am being a bit killy. Am I doing it wrong?

Unless you're counting killing as "Tactical Espionage Operations" then... yes.

(to be honest there's no right way obviously but playing it stealthy is so much more rewarding and fun)

99% done with GZ and it's been a lot of fun. Once the system starts to reveal itself you can start to do some really daft things with it. knowing that a headshot tranq isn't always the most useful approach when a chest shot will take effect 10 seconds later works wonders.
