I believe during the Deja Vu mission in GZ, when you're scanning the logos of those games with your blue light (yup, that's a thing) Miller will even comment and mention that he doesn't recognize them.

So let's say you scan the Acid logo he'll say something negative I think. Could be wrong though as at one point there's a Metal Gear Solid Ghost Babel title on one of the shacks which is fake? So I might have just been scanning fake logos or something.

I don't know okay?

Ghost Babel was the subtitle of the GBC game in the US; my UK copy didn't have one.

Supposedly there are a lot of spoilers out for this, so I'd suggest steering well clear of any comments sections.

I've ordered it here for £22.99, as per up-thread. Not due to arrive for another couple of days though, so can't give you 100% confidence in the seller yet.

Just got my code now - and all worked fine. (Had to e-mail them though as they said would be on the 20th. Also their dispatch e-mail directs me to sign up to Kinguin. I feel dirty :()

Watched a 3 hour movie of Peace Walker on youtube just to catch up on the one game I've missed. Actually pretty entertaining and just nice to have one of the gaps filled out storyline wise. Started watching the story for MGS1 as well and ended up watching the whole thing, I forgot how much like a slasher Liquid is - 'I'm BACK Snake!' Will probably end up watching the rest of them as I'm sad like that.

Out of curiosity Spainkiller is a lot of the story told through the side ops and tapes as well as the main story missions ? Makes me wonder how many of the side ops things were completed/things left undiscovered in general.

The problem is that most of the game is remarkably grounded in reality (as in, being the least batshit of the Solid games)

:(

but then every once and a while something happens that makes a guy shooting bees look tame.

Sounds like my perfect game. Proper player agency, interlinking gameplay systems that make everything feel meaningful, smooth segues between stealth and action, an authored plot that gets out of way in favour of player-created stories. I might book two days off instead of just the one.

Spainkiller, can you give some detail about the difficulty levels? One issue I've found with previous MGS (including Ground Zeroes) is that the sneaking is a bit too tough and frustrating on Hard, but the 'loud' gameplay is way too easy on Normal. As in, Snake is far too resilient. Though, I think in this one, the extra freedom and space will probably make more alert enemies easier to cope with.
