Netflix just told me to re-login on the Xbox because someone else is using the account. Is this the end of password sharing? I knew it was in the post, but they can fuck right off.  They're getting my money now.  If they stop password sharing they won't get anything.  Fuck them.  Mind you, Netflix has become progressively worse ever since every other streaming site started and took back their content. This is a terrible move for Netflix.

Suck it up tight arse.

I've hated what they've done lately, like all of Better Call Saul, All Quiet on the Western Front, Athena, Glass Onion,  games on your mobile like Immortality or Kentucky Route Zero. Totally worthless, why should anyone pay for that shit individually, nevermind sharing an account?

I think password sharing makes Netflix a no brainer.  Without password sharing you have to compare it to what else is out there.  There's only a set number of hours in the day, so I'm not going to pay for multiple services. Having Netflix shared with my sister for £6 or whatever is worthwhile alongside my Disney Plus or Prime.  But at full price I'll stick with Disney.

Not seen much mention of it, but a big recommendation from me for season 2 of Alice in Borderland. Excellent stuff.

Can't wait to start this. Just trying to finish a couple of the umpteen shows I have on the go first. There's just too much damn fine TV out there at the moment.

The second season of Alice in Borderland is quite enjoyable, but I swear they could cut about half the running time if there wasn't in every single game a moment where everything pauses so that one of the hero characters can give a speech about going back to the real world or for an antagonist to ask the "what are you living for" question over and over again.

It's also really annoying how they start each "game" half way through an episode, so that they can have a cliff hanger for the next one, and then resolve it in the first half of the following episode. It's a really weird format considering it's a streaming show.

On New Years Eve we watched the film White Noise, which appeared on Netflix the day before.  It was instantly a surprise late contender for my favourite film of the year. It's adapted from a well known novel, apparently, but I haven't read the novel.

Anyway, I recommended it on another forum, and today I see that two people tried to watch it and gave up after half an hour saying the dense, overlapping dialogue did their head in.  I had a browse on IMDB in pretty much every user review is "1/10, had to switch off after 30 minutes, hated it."

I loved every second of it.  Anyway, give it a go and report back.

Started that Kaleidoscope last night, very enjoyable.

Typical stylish heist setup fare but the eps will play in a random order leading to a finale

Not quite sure the point of that in terms of what it adds to the mix other than a gimmick, but enjoyed the first we watched and it mad sense so far despite our first ep not being the first chronologically.

Apparently you can choose the order except for the finale. Might make a start tonight.

Edit: It's as you say, each viewer gets a random order, but you can choose to change that fro. The normal episode screen, including the finale.

Giving that a go now as well, I'm on my second episode. Would be interested to hear what order other people are watching it in!

Gonna go back and keep editing this post, so far for me it's:

Yellow

Green

Violet

Blue

Orange

Red

I really struggled with White Noise.

Perhaps it didn't help that I was watching it on NYE after a bottle of wine, but so much of the film felt like obscure metaphor, it made me feel stupid. It was tonally all over the place; part sci-fi horror, part family drama, part roadtrip comedy.

Bit fucked off about 1899 getting shit canned. Really enjoyed it, then the making of thing they've put up made it look like it was locked in for at least another run.

As much as I love a load of Netflix stuff, some of their renewal and cancellation choices are baffling

I read that as part of my English degree, and it's one of the few books I can actually remember from the course. I thought it was brilliant!

I had no idea a film adaptation was being made, but I'll have to check it out.

When I watched the trailer many weeks ago I quite liked the look of it, seemed like a little clever indie movie, I even laughed at Cheadle's 'There are two types of people - Killers and diers' line. Then I watched the Kermode review where he really shat all over it and yeah, the critics really didn't like it so I just fully banished it from my memory. Might give it a chance.

Does 1899 work as a single-series or does it end on a cliff-hanger? If it’s the latter I won’t bother watching it, which is a shame as it sounds interesting.

It absolutely works fine as a single series.

Kinda glad that there isn't any more of it, really.  I enjoyed it immensely, but it's given up all its surprises now, and a further series would just turn into soap opera.

we let Netflix decide and also got yellow then green.

I really like it, just not sure what the random playlist adds other than making you mention it to other people like this, but then you can't really discuss details as too spoilery.

Can't help but feel it would have been enjoyable just the same with a single edit/order for everybody, it's quite clever you can start at ep3 and guess at the relationships/history for the characters but that's not any different from a chopped up timeline so many things edit in now anyway.

Good but a gimmick.

They’re going to get themselves in to a vicious circle where people don’t watch Netflix series because they’ll probably be cancelled, so viewing figures don’t meet expectations, so shows get cancelled, so people don’t watch Netflix series…

Yeah, if I don't end up cancelling because of the pssword sharing bollocks, I don't think I'll start a new show unless it has multimple seasons and a non cliffhanger ending to them.  Purely becuase of the cancellations.  I hope for less cliffhanger endings to everything really - that fucks me off a lot.

I'm already at this point. I add new shows to my watch list if they look interesting, and half the time end up removing them before I've watched anything due to them being cancelled after one season or something. It seems pointless wasting time watching new Netflix shows unless they're self-contained, one and done things.
