Another from Goose’s list, Hold the Dark, just dropped a trailer.

Looks to maintain Saulnier’s unique brand of ‘tense as fuck’

I let myself watch 40 seconds of that trailer, but no more because I am in!

Yes, I only watched the snippet I watched because I had no idea what it was.

I hate watching trailers. Just show me a two minute continuous snippet of actual movie non-spoilery dialogue - I can work out for myself based on that if it’s worth watching or not.

Anyone watch The Innocents? A Netflix original 8 part show about a teenage couple who run away from their rural homes and head for London. But the girl develops shape-shifting powers and soon they're being followed all kinds of shady types. Guy Pierce is in it, it looks really good and the two teenage leads are excellent. It feels a little like Utopia. I've watched two and I'll probably finish it over the rest of the week.

Anyone with even a passing interest in #MeToo, sexual or gender politics should watch Hannah Gadsby’s Nanette. It’s a brilliant, ground-breaking and award-winning stand up show.

Actually fuck it – everyone should watch it.

The last 10 minutes were so honest and ruthless.

I finished watching it yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Thanks guys, Goliath is the only one there that I fancy checking out, may give it a watch.

Very disappointed Hand of God is not a tv show about the life of Maradona.

Preacher gets good from S2. Then really good from S3. S1 average to OK by the end.

Goliath is great, so is Patriot. But the best show I've seen on Amazon is Animal Kingdom, season 3 has just finished. It's based (loosely) on the Australian film of the same name but transferred to the US West coast. I really enjoyed it.

Edit: How could I have forgotten about The Looming Tower, that was very, very good. And Vikings, Hell on Wheels, Black Sails and Halt and Catch Fire - all good depending on where your interests lie really. There's actually quite a lot of good stuff on Amazon now I've sat and cast my mind back a bit.

Watched Nick of Time. It was alright. ..yes the 1996 Johnny Depp film I'd never heard of where he's blackmailed into assassinating the state governor and the whole thing plays out in 'real' time. It's the fastest film I've probably every watched. Christopher Walken has a line of dialogue meant to show how vicious he is and willing to kill his mates or children or his mates children and he's convincingly evil with it, but the way the dialogue goes it's not as clear as it should be. hang on

Mr. Smith: There was this guy... Big guy, Irish-Italian. Red-faced, black-haired, jolly son of a bitch... Wait a second, nobody could make me laugh like him. He made a science of collecting jokes. We closed more bars together than I could count. Now, he was a pal. I loved the crazy mick. I'm not ashamed to say that, but... He was a fuck-up. He had this image of himself. He thought he was a con man. Always trying to shave the edge. He was nickel and dime. I'll always miss him. Tell me why.

Gene Watson: Tell you why, what?

Mr. Smith: Tell me why I miss him.

Gene Watson: He's dead?

Mr. Smith: That's right. He is dead, but tell me why.

Gene Watson: How do I know? I don't...

Mr. Smith: Tell me why he's dead.

Gene Watson: Because you killed him.

Mr. Smith: That's right, I did. I killed him. He fucked up one too many times. So, I put a bullet in his eye. Then, I put two more into him just to make sure. Now, that was somebody I loved; I loved him! But I got the call, and I put him down like a sick animal. So... if you got doubts... about what's going to happen if you don't deliver, let me tell you something. I'll make gravy out of your little girl just to season that Black Irish cocksucker's meat. Now, you do what you're supposed to do, young man. You do it now.

I did love how Walken says 'I loved him!' though. Probably the best bit of the film.

I also watched Headshot which i would recommend people avoiding. It might seem brutal, and fun, but don't. The worse sign of an action film is surely that you dread the next inevitable fight scene. can i just skip this one. You realise how actually poor the film is and know exactly where it will go in its remaining 50 minutes and now all there is is to endure it. Really, even if you think; 'how bad can it be really? Maybe he was just in a bad mood when he watched it'. I wasn't. Jeff Bridges' Bad Company 70s western was really good until I fell asleep. Also, Peter Joseph's Zeitgeist documentary films are on there. Skip the first one that goes into conspiracies.

I’ve always liked the look of Sneaky Pete, but haven’t gotten around to it yet. Worth watching?

Interesting. My wife and I really enjoyed S1, but had to give up on S2 because it just seemed to be floundering.

I didn't give up but I agree.  S1 was great,  S2 didn't seem to go anywhere but S3 was a lot better.

Sorry, not watched any of Sneaky Pete yet, but it is on my list. I have heard that it's quite good from a couple of people at work.

Cheers. I keep meaning to try Outlander and The Man In The High Castle too.
