Got £71.90 for this lot:

PS3

Darksiders

Super Street Fighter IV

Red Faction Guerrilla

Bionic Commando

Prototype

inFamous

DS

GTA Chinatown Wars

Worms Open Warfare 2

Elite Beat Agents

The additional £30 for the nine titles is included with each individual price, but I'm well pleased with one in particular. SSFIV went for £14.70, only about four quid less than what I paid for it on release day. I sold it because I'm shit at it and have barely touched it in months.

With the credit I then went and bought Rayman Origins (it's wonderful  ) for £19.99. I know it can be bought cheaper online, but I was feeling brave. Saw Catherine instore too, almost went for that as well.

Got 73 pound for 12 games with 2 being non resale games from controller bundles.

Disaster day of crisis got me £13.40, I paid £2 just the other week from GAME for it. Now just need to find something to buy. Also no million and one questions, just one asking if I wanted to preorder anything.

I may well trade games in with them for games they have in stock, but for pre-orders? No, not until they've been getting steady supplies from all the publishers will I consider trading in games for credit towards a pre-order or a console.

I agree but I also have a load of shit here just collecting dust, I'm talking about shite worth fuck all really. So may be worth a gamble in my case anyway.

I bought a DS Lite off eBay last week that came with a load of games I didn't want. Almost traded them at CeX yesterday, but I'm bloody glad I didn't.

From the receipt:

Professor Layton & The Curious Village - £17.40

Brain Training - £11.40

Football Director DS - £5.40

Agatha Christie ABC Murders - £4.40

42 All Time Classics - £8.40

Mirror's Edge - £6.40

£53.40 is pretty mad for that lot. CeX would've given me about thirteen quid. I took Skyrim and will probably grab ME3 once that's back in stock.

Yeah, I took in a bunch of decent-but-old-and-worthless stuff and got almost £150 for it. Pleasant surprise of the day was about twelve quid for the original Marvel vs Capcom 3.

Made up the difference and bought a Vita. I only meant to come out with the latest Professor Layton game

So is everyone already planning to bring down the second reincarnation of GAME under the weight of unsellable tat?

Just their new management with a crazy not-thought-through attempt to restock their shelves. Someone somewhere at Game Towers must've realised that people would bring piles of FIFA08s in. Even the store manager at my local Game was exasperated at the pile of 3-4 year old sports titles he already had, and that was on Easter Monday.

I helped him out by trading in 8 more from the CEX next door.

They really should refuse sports titles older than a year. How on earth will they ever sell a FIFA 07?

Maybe they ship them off by the pallet load to the aforementioned Music Magpie.

Can anyone confirm that Skyrim is £25 in store? I fancy picking up a 360 copy, and given the apparently decent trade-in prices I might as well clear my shelves of anything not worth sending to Amazon.

Maybe they do, but they will get 30p back for a £4.40 outlay. And without going too much into the economics of what customers end up spending their store credit on, it really doesn't make much commercial sense.

Anyway, car boots are on tomorrow so I'll be hunting for more tat before the offer shuts down.

thank the gods i saw this thread - decided to pop down to my nearest (now) game in newtownards with 15 very old games (were talking stuff like gears of war 1, Gun, perfect dark etc.. all games nearly 2 years old at the earliest - knew with 15 i was guaranteed 50 quid quaranteed and reconned prob another 30 on top of that for the games. went to desk let him scan them in and he said that comes to 70 quid yeah sorry thats all - i thought that wasnt to bad for the old games and the deal THEN he says now ontop of that there is also 50 quid for trading in 15 games so thats 120 quid in total RE----FOOKING---SULT!!! kinda feel bad cause a pre jan they would only give me about a pound for something like gun now it was 8.40!!!

so picked up a copy for skyrim for 24.99 and have the left on a game gift card (must remeber to keep an eye out ifncase they go belly up again so i can get in quickly ans use the card)

I can also confirm that Skyrim is £24.98.

Now that I've checked online, I'll likely head back tomorrow to grab Catherine for £29.98, seeing as there's nowhere online selling it cheaper. Is that a first, GAME instore being the cheapest location for a game?

It'll be mangled and come from a drawer though.

As soon as you start refusing titles, people will start to consider not coming because they won't know whether they can trade their games.

This is exasperated by them not putting the prices online, because apparently it's still 1995. This is one of the things I'm hoping OpC will fix. Quick. Even HMV can manage it.

Maybe they do, but they will get 30p back for a £4.40 outlay. And without going too much into the economics of what customers end up spending their store credit on, it really doesn't make much commercial sense.

Be very clear though, it's not a 30p outlay sure but it's also not a £4.40 outlay.

This is the actual reason why. A staff member once told me that their policy hinged on the idea that they'll take Fifa 07, perhaps only for 20p, because a customer is likely to have other items worth more - and even if they toss the Fifa in the bin, that 20p outlay is still a worthwhile loss when you consider the value of having a "we'll take anything on current formats" policy.

I'm not surprised they take old sports titles, but I do think it's odd that they're eligible for the £10 extra. Several years ago when GAME were in fine shape old sport and wrestling games often wouldn't qualify for trade-in promotions, so you'd think they'd do something similar here.

Of course that makes it difficult to do deals like this without taking a bath, they've presumably calculated it's still worth it.
