I've had an absolutely crazy run today where I played five solo games and won three of them. I feel there should be a name for a win where you only kill one person... Really enjoyable final game where I managed to flank all of the last three people and killed them before they knew I was there (stuck a plunger on one of them - turned out that's not enough to kill them :/). Having a sniper rifle made a big difference in the end game, where you can headshot people peeking out of forts. What explosives do people choose? If you can't get a rocket or grenade launcher do you take remote explosives or plungers or what?

C4 is godly at the moment, grenade launcher over rockets every time - proly plungers over gra as more control of where they land!

Man, save the world is awesome.  It's a bit overcomplicated, but I love it!  I've earned about 1,000 VBucks just from the opening missions and stuff!  Mega fun.  

 

Does anyone here have/play it?

Cleared both the weeklys last night by completing my two nemesis missions.

 

The sniper kills were cleared during 50v50, snuck behind enemy lines and downed too players who’d built a fort by running inside and shot gunning them. Then I closed the door and finished them both off with the bolt action. Went on to take my total kills to 7 in that game.

 

Then, during a squad game one of my team pointed out a llama to me and the world was a beautiful place.

Have it on Xbox but hardly touched it other than to claim the daily log ins.

Knock them with anything, then take 7-8 shots to finish them off with a hunting rifle. It's easy. ;)

Edit: I was trying to get the sniper and Paradise kills at the same time by landing in the lone house on the cliff which usually has one or two chests, then getting on the roof of the little log cabin between that and Paradise Palms. No-one ever lands there and you’re really high up with a wall, so it hides your position well. I’ve hit a few people with the sniper rifle from there but not got that elusive second kill.

I was suggesting that I am shit, by the fact it takes me that many attempts to actually finish someone off.

I hate sniper challenges because the entire game is based around rushing people at the moment. Better hope you get them with your first shot because if you leave them with even 1hp, suddenly there’s an entire wooden city between you and the target.

As you at through save the world (which I've done as an entirely solo. Experience so far) you will earn account-level  vbucks as rewards for some missions. 

 

I've earned about 1000 in about 4 hours :)

 

Gutted there's no cross play yet :(

There are some guides to how many vbucks you can expect to get from Save the World - here's one for example.

 

 

Wondering whether to buy it while it's on sale - if you but it, does it then unlock for everyone on that Xbox, or is it like the Battle Pass and every user would have to buy it?

 

 

EDIT: Seems it would work, according to Epic themselves.

 

 

Considering buying it - if like @robdood I can get 1,000 vbucks for not too much effort, that is basically £7.99 of the purchase price covered, £10 would then give a steady trickle of vbucks for me and my son. Only thing holding me back really is that I currently use all my gaming time on Battle Royale, don't really have enough time to split between two games and still progress the Battle Pass to completion. Hmm.

I always want to throw-and-detonate the C4 like you could remote mines in Goldeneye but it doesn't work very well

In the last patch they've changed it so that c4 can now only detonate while attached to a surface. 

 

You used to be able to use c4 just like GE remote mines!

Ok, I just did this.

 

 

Since using my PC would drive me to insanity and I was worried the various softwares required would infest me with viruses and/or screw up my network settings irreparably, I opted for the coward's route of using gift cards. Annoyingly, the standard edition costs 29 and a half Turkish groats, but you can only buy them in 25, 50 and 100 denominations. Using MTCgames you can buy 50 groats for just under a tenner, but that would leave a bunch unused so I opted to buy the deluxe edition for 49 groats. Still a hell of a saving compared to buying the standard edition on the UK store at half price!

 

 

If you want to do the same, first you need a Turkish gift card - MTCgames sorted me out there.

 

 

Then you need to set your Xbox to Turkey. Go to settings > language and location, leave the language as English, change your location to Turkey. Select restart console.

 

 

Then just go to the store, redeem code, receive groats, get Fortnite! When you can be arsed set your console location back to the UK. Job done!

Also, does anyone who has Save the World fancy trying a bit of coop tonight? I've some time between 1900-2100.

 

Cross platform is present aside from between ps4/Xbone.
