Definitely switch to Pro Builder if you haven't. I got into a firefight and managed to build a small box with a ramp, jumped out of my mini fort as the guy was attacking it, got behind him and killed him.

 

Then died a minute later, but the point is... I actually built something useful during a fight and it was easier with Pro Builder.

I have!  I still get mega confused though, playing too many games at the moment so I keep pressing the wrong button for cancel/run/whatever!

Got another couple of victories last night. My tip for a landing spot that seems to be rarely occupied but tends to yield some decent loot is the mountain with the rocket silo inside on the west coast of the map near Snobby Shores. There's a small plateau on the east side of the mountain that always has a chest, chop down some trees and ramp up on top of the mountain and work down through the silo, usually another 2 or three chests on there, out of the garage doors and quick hop down the mountain to the nearby crater usually also has another couple of chests. I found last night that the first circle continually encompassed this area so plenty of time to gear up.

 

Can anyone recommend any decent youtube streamers for this game as I'd love to watch some tips for building. Definitely going to switch to builder pro layout also.

I enjoy watching iTemp Plays.  There are loads of others, but he seems like a normal decent bloke who's just good at the game, and he's very down to earth as well.  Basically I like him because he doesn't annoy me, which is rare for a youtuber.

Enjoyed it last night but my lack of comms definitely didn’t help. Will be ordering a headset this week. 

 

Also, last night was the first time I tried Builder Pro controls and haven’t quite got to grips with it yet but can see how it is much quicker.

 

Busy next couple of nights but definitely up for games at the weekend if people don’t mind having to carry a weak member!

Was good, we all start and get better as the systems become instinctive and it’s a fairly hard game to learn the basics as so many unique things to learn!

 

Im addicted to the Switch version at the moment, 12 kill win and the chap who came second was not very good - I shot him while he built walls around every part of him except where I was firing from!

My son just informed me it's been taken down because it's a buggy mess. Should be up again later.

 

In other news, manchildren on twitter losing their minds complaining about no updates from Epic. Probably the same ones that were screaming about the Life is Strage demo being a few hours late on PSN.

Theyve taken it offline for the time being :( I think the servers took a bartering as Cohen mentioned. 

 

I really need to practice my building, I’ve tried building pro, but combat pro is engrained into my brain too much now. Hopefully this new mode will help me switch settings. 

 

A target get practice amp wouldn’t be bad either.  Starting to play this game can be frustrating, as its not as instant. So it can be a while before an encounter, only for it to be over before you’ve got your shit together :lol:  Though landing at tilted or the recent chest/elimination challenge locations can get you into combat quickly.

Been playing the teams of twelve mode today.

 

Much more brutal than the previous twenty team game. Not sure if it's one battle bus or, unlike, the twenty team game you can't see the others, but every game I've played bar one has been all out war from the drop.

 

Had a great game earlier - killed 2 as soon as I dropped as they had nothing. Then a game of cat and mouse with someone before we both sprinted for safety from the storm.

 

Then sniped someone standing around, then sniped their comrade who went to heal them and dos damage to someone else. 

 

Found myself the only member of my team left (although I never saw any of them all game anyway) and managed to take down two more of a team of 6 as I entered the final circle and then narrowly missed out on killing a third. Got blasted eventually.

haha! We needed voice comms so bad.  Though we did well using those funky new map markers!

 

I have to retire.  6th in that last one! We are due a win v soon!

 

I wish this had gyro aiming options for aim down sights :(

Man, just got my first ever top 3, and it was on PC!  So close, I snuck up on one of the two master builders who were duking it out, by stealth building behind him... unfortunately I fell to my death once we started fighting :(

I think I'd have been lost if this was the team mode when i started playing a couple of weeks ago.

 

There isn't really a competative mode at the moment that gives you any space to learn the game bar skulking about away from the heart of the action. After a few good games in the new mode yesterday, last night I was just getting wiped out.

Well I'm officially a sap, my resolve to not spend any on Fortnite already crumbled. 

 

The lure of objectives was too strong! So I got the battle pass for this season. Having a blast with my massive shopping list! :D

 

Getting the "deal 250 damage to people using the pickaxe" was the most fun I've had in a multiplayer game in ages! 

 

I basically just chose someone to follow during the skydive and just landed right behind them and went for it! Only took me 3 games! Got one kill too :)

 

So fucking addictive.
