I'm pleased there's lots of monster hunts. Do they replenish in certain areas after time or are there just a lot of them?

Selling junk would be fine if it was clear what was junk. Some of the stuff in that section has uses for upgrading items.

You can just restart a hunt after you've completed it. I don't know if it alters anything (e.g. monster level or the amount of gil earned) as I haven't done that yet.

It's such a weird game. I've just had a quest involving a spoiled cat, then I read a newspaper headline talking about Vivienne Westwood designing a woman's dress, and I've just seen that Dave the Hunter has a quest for me on the other side of the map so I've asked Ignis to drive me there while I sit in the back and admire the scenery. I think there's a Final Fantasy game in here somewhere.

Nighttime gets really hectic. I headed out to do a hunt to kill a big flan. That was no problem. When it finished a dropship dumped some magitek troops. Again no problem. Then a bunch of flaming bombs attacked. I was in the middle of killing those when a level 30 iron giant spawned, more bombs were spawning all the time and then another drop ship dropped a load of troops. I legged it at this point

I think the number one rule is to not go out without buffs. Combat is just more fun pure and simple with them.

When your not buffed it can be a bit of a crawl away and get hit in the back shit fest.

So just like real life kids, make sure you eat before you go out having fun.

Has there been any word on Xbox1/PS4 comparisons yet?

I'm going to naively assume the PS4 one would be the one to go for, but would be good to know for sure!

I was told here and the interwebs confirms that the PS4 version runs at a higher resolution so that's the one I've gone for. Plus it just seems right to play FF on Playstation!

So with regards to the unlikable cast. How bad are we talking? Because you'd have to go some way to outdo the collection of utter cockgoblins that were the cast of FFXIII.

They're not unlikable, they just don't act like humans.

So I still got this problem where I can't see all of the screen, i.e. the right part is cropped. So I have to fight 1/  monsters. 1/3? 1/1234? I don't know. The standard solution to this is to go to the PS4 menu and adjust the screen size, which I've done. But alas, this doesn't change anything in the game. Am I just being daft here?

I've done a bit of searching & found a Reddit post that talks about TV overscan setting?

The walking and running animation for the main character is the strangest I have ever seen. As is that random New York accented characters voice, Kapeesh!

I love the mix of super English, urban American, cowboys, New York gangsters and cockneys. I'm hoping to meet a pirate.

Amazon have shipped mine so hopefully should be there when I get home. The misses is going out so I have the evening with the surround sound and big tv to enjoy an evening of Final Fantasy :D

Been a long time coming this game and I've been quietly hyped about it. Reviews are looking good so I can't wait :D

I've got my hands on the Piggyback guide and as usual it's of high quality.  I've gotten through the first 6 or so hunts just using the starting set up but it's very useful to have a detailed resource available for things like character development, enemy weaknesses etc.

I still find it enormously upsetting that to download the thing costs me £10 more...

It was also upsetting to discover my local Tescos (which is a massive one) had no sign of the game in stock at all...don't think they'd even got it in to sell.

Guess I'll carry on playing Witcher for a while then ;)

Meanwhile, if all these new-fangled post-IX FFs aren't your cup of tea, I Am Setsuna is on sale on PS4. ;) https://store.playstation.com/#!/nl-nl/games/i-am-setsuna/cid=EP0082-CUSA04740_00-IAMSETSUNAGAME00

Must say the final game looks a lot better than I anticipated. It's like they purposefully brought out the horrible demos to make sure people would be pleasantly surprised.

CD Keys are doing £50 PSN credit for £45.99 and you can also get 5% off for liking their page on FB. Total cost - £43.69 - which isnt too bad.

It's not a bad game, I haven't had the time to put into it yet but it is very much old school JRPG ^_^ It's going to be a game I play during the Christmas period for definite.

I think my second copy of FF15 Day One Edition will arrive today (I know, I know - I ordered two just in case one arrived early). Assuming it does, if anyone wants it (new and sealed) for £34 delivered let me know. I can post it today.

Sainsburys didn't even have it on the shelf, I asked customer services and they hadn't even unboxed them in the warehouse.  I got one though.

There's a lot going on in supermarkets these days with Christmas coming and when the only way to increase your profit margin is to clamp down on staff numbers and quality something has to give.

The shareholders will be happy though.

i've been playing this all morning and I'm still struggling with the combat. I just don't get it. I think it's the holding of the lock button. It just turns the controls into twister for my brain. I just need to find some areas without bushes in the way so I can see what's going on.
