Rllmuk racing wheel thread

i've never used a t150 but assuming it comes with similar pedals to the base t300 ones then the logitech pedals would be better/more sturdy, and imo logitech has better build quality but the forcefeedback is a bit notchy as it's a gear driven system (t300 has smoother forcefeedback but not sure how that compares to the t150), they are good wheels still - but yeah i agree with Corranga doubt it would an upgrade worth the money, if an upgrade at all - especially if you're happy with your current wheel/pedals.

Just in case you are a console gamer... Isn't a T150 a Playstation wheel, and a G920 an Xbox wheel?  (they both do PC of course)

The G29 is Playstation version of the G920.

The G923 is the newer / replacement of those above, adding basically just a small transducer for different / better vibration.  The G923 comes in 2 varieties, Playstation and Xbox - none of them can do both consoles.

I'm certainly not an expert with these, but I always thought the T150 to be the Thrustmaster equivalent of the G29/920/923 - I'd say they are the same level, not an upgrade.

I'm sure there are pros and cons of both.

Yes I’m a console gamer; I race with youon Monday nights ;)

but yeah they are both on offer , I just wasn’t sure if the g29 was an upgrade. From what you have said and looking around they are much of a muchness

Yeah I have come to the conclusion that I’m gonna need to spend a bit more for a worthwhile upgrade

I recently brought a G29 steering wheel and am now looking for a racing stand,  some thing small, not too expensive which folds away.  Am I best going for something from GT Omega (likely the Classic or Apex)?

I have the Classic and I can totally recommend it.  Really well made and it's fine even with the direct drive/load cell setup I use.  Much better than a stand with a central post, especially if you're ever planning on using a clutch/h-pattern shifter.  I'd imagine the Apex is even better and more sturdy too.

Sorry!  It takes me months to figure out names, and that's real people's names, not real name to voice to PSN name to forum name :D

Are you PeeBee71 then?

@PaB I wouldn't bother switching from T150 to G29. It's a sideways step rather than an upgrade - yes the T150 is basic and could use some more buttons but it's got it where it counts.

What you DO want to do, assuming you've got a Thrustmaster two-pedal set, is get rid of them ASAP and buy any three-pedal Thrustmaster set.

I've got the T3PA, then above that is the T3PA Pro (more setup options), other people here have the T-LCM (load cell) which is better again. And I think there's a newer one still that uses Hall effect sensors instead of potentiometers, but I don't know about those.

Even if you don't intend to ever use the clutch pedal, all the Thrustmaster three-pedal sets are still much much better than any of their two-pedal sets.

Ah cool thanks for this. And they are compatible with a t150?

I think everything within the Thrustmaster ecosystem is compatible, even backwards. Fanatec as well.

Yeah, all the Thrustmaster gear is completely interoperable. I've even used a set of racing pedals as makeshift rudder pedals with a Thrustmaster flight stick (it's not ideal but it basically does a job).

I think the T3PA set is discontinued now - it's saying out of stock on the Thrustmaster website, but you can still get them on Amazon for £10 more than the newer magnetic / hall effect sensor T3PM set.  From what I can see, the T3PM is exactly the same construction as the T3PAs, but with the better (less likely to degrade) sensor, and £10 cheaper RRP to boot.

My T-LCM set use the same sensor for the accelerator, and although they still get gunked up with dust and pet hair, cleaning is much easier as there's no potentiometer involved.

The T-LCMs have always had hall effect sensors as far as I'm aware, pretty sure my set are the first version that was released and they defo use hall rather than pots.  Much better as pots always go bad after a while, as anyone with a scratchy Dunlop Cry Baby knows well!!

Looks like a CSL Elite wheelbase & clubsport F1 wheel - the base is discontinued now, nice setup tho.

I ordered my fist ever steering wheel last night — a Logitech G923 (PS/PC) and it should arrive tomorrow. Hoping it works with my Brook Wingman on Xbox too. Can’t wait to try it with GT7 VR and OutRun 2 (Steam). :omg:

What’s the general consensus on the CSL Elite wheelbase?  It seems you can pick them up relatively “cheaply” second hand, in that they’re about the same as a new Logitech G923 but is the risk of second hand versus new worth it?
